New unique is a great april fool's joke, blizz!

Seriously though, when are y’all adding the real unique effect to the patch notes?

It’s funny, every other unique doesn’t have a negative effect, but the Sorc one does.

It’s so bad it’s actually funny… I’m laughing so hard I’m crying inside.

That can’t be real. Teleport to a random location?

I already have five teleports and I teleport where I want to go. Why on earth would I ever equip this wand? It frees up an enchant slot but still… sheesh. It’ll probably teleport me into an Elite’s corpse whilst it’s going through one of its 100 explosions!

The devs are clearly morons.

It is real and it does make sense in context as it pays homage to what the item did in D2. The issue is in that game the “Teleport to a random location” was the downside ballanced out by:

+3 to Sorceress Skill Levels (this includes passives btw.)
+5 to Mana on crit
+20 to all Resistances
30% Faster Cast Rate
+20 to Vitality and Energy
+20% Enhanced Defense
50% better chance of getting Magic Items

item had better be absolutely bangin to offset how truly terrible the unique effect is

It’s not in homage. It replaces evade, which is crucial for a Raiment Sorc build. It can also teleport you into the middle of an exploding corpse, a skeleton’s arrow, a meteor from a helltide. It’s just stupid.

As I said, this was supposed to be the downside of it but they now try to sell it to us as “the feature” which is stupid for obvious reasons.

honestly it’s such a huge downside I’m not sure what explicits could really make up for it

it’s not just like, a downside, it’s actively bad and dangerous and functionally an unusable item on hardcore

This is a pretty scary unique. You can accidentally aggro an elite mob that wipes your team at high level nightmare dungeons. Or you can teleport into a group of elite mobs that 1 shot you. This is a “use at your own risk” type of unique.

it’s literally unusable on hardcore given how risky the unique affect is. like, especially with the nerfs to defenses in general in this patch, the risk it poses to teleporting you into a big swing or a placed AoE makes it so potentially deadly that to use it is to risk losing your HC character on almost every dodge

Did they forget to add the positive effects this time? lmao

Maybe they looked at the item and unironically thought of it as a “fun upside”.

This item single handedly made me lose a lot of faith in the devs, humanity.

I just can’t even.

As you start to read that item you get excited that an interesting sorc unique was finally created.

Then you read the last sentence and are just left with a WTAF feeling.

At this point they just need to remove the Sorc class altogether. It’s clear they hate Sorc…

real talk, normally I’m all for being nice to devs and understanding mistakes happen but like

whoever worked on/is in charge of sorcs did a terrible job and should honestly feel bad about the job they’ve done. i do not feel bad about writing this, but they should feel bad about the work they’ve done and I’m shocked that this is apparently the quality of work that rod and team things is A-OK

You know that’s exactly what it will do. Every. Single. Time.

I mean, it’s possible it’s got outstanding stats on it… right?

what stats would make you use that item over any other 2h weapon or 1h/oh combo with strong rolls and legendary effects?

serious question, because i honestly can’t think of any stat combinations in the game that would make this worth using
