Hi guys im new to this game I used to play a lot of Wow and ESO. Does anyone know if any pvp content will be added? Are there more people playing pvp on the eternal realm at all? I know this type of game is more centred around pve dungeon grinding ect but just think that somthing competitive might make endgame more fun ??
No news of new content on PVP front.
And just to warn you, PVP content is massively imbalanced. Barbarians and Druid are pretty much indestructible without a massive level disparity. If you enter PVP zones, they will:
- Be empty.
- Have players actively avoiding each other so they can accomplish season goals or grind cosmetics.
People who play D4 for PVP are like people shopping in a grocery store for clothing.
There’s already PvP in the game, and I avoid it to the maximum degree feasible while still completing everything in the game.
This means:
- I had to go to the PvP zones to get the alters of lilith and full map exploration.
- I had to refine some shards of hatred to get 100% completion of multiple levels of the Season 1 journey.
- I had to mutually agree with another player to kill each other once each to complete level 5 of the seasonal journey.
I am not happy about any of the above. I have no objection to PvP content in the game, but I want to be able to have the game tell me I’m 100% done without touching PvP.
And if anyone tells me that I haven’t actually completed 100% of the game if I haven’t done PvP, then I’ll tell them that any PvP content required for 100% completion of the game should be removed.
I’m perfectly OK with PvP being in the game only if the game can be 100% completed without touching it.
This is actually a really good point.
If they removed the PvP seasonal objectives and allowed players to grind the cosmetics outside of PvP zones, there might actually be more PvP in PvP zones because the only people who would go there are people who actually want to play PvP.
A full server shard only requires about 12 players. While the vast majority of players don’t want to play PvP, if the game stopped pushing people into PvP zones who don’t want to PvP, I’m pretty sure there are 12 players at any given time who do want to PvP.
The people that don’t want to but feel like they have to be in the pvp zones are the content for the people that like pvp.
Except most of the people who like PVP quickly realized how imbalanced it is and D4, and moved on. I’ve heard there was a flurry of PVP early on, but it’s dropped off significantly since.
I check the PVP zones pretty regularly to grind red dust, and don’t encounter people often. And when I do, the usually move away or emote to indicate friendly status as they move past.
I’ve had one session where some rogue repeatedly attacked my druid, despite me stomping him each time.
I am not sure about PvP in eternal realm, but there were always other players in the PvP zone in season 1 now whenever I go there. Sometimes I could even see 3 - 7 players there and the PvP battle just kept going on.
Here is the video when I just saw and fought 3 different players within a few minutes.
