New Mercenary Details Revealed

Ok that’s interesting, a sort of reputation system along with a currency used in the mercenary den. Gamescon can’t come soon enough.

Ugh, one more thing I have to redo/relevel every three months. Please tell me I can skip all this and play the game without mercs.

…and most likely per Character.

I think on paper it looks ‘Organic’ to the design team - “Well as they do this and that blah blah blah”.
We’ll see how it actually works in practice.
Really well made, organic, flowing and progressive.
or
A tired, convoluted chore adding another layer for and to the hamster wheel of player engagement(metrics).
Time will tell.

(p.s. this isn’t “qq” - this is an educated guess and speculation oh dear trolls)

I hope theres a negative report. Like can I get my mercs to absolutely hate my guts.

If I can get them to hate me so much that they leave me never to return that would be cool.

I played a game that had that system, it was pretty funny the NPC would curse or spit at or on you before giving surly responses :joy:

I would be all for an angry reputation bar system if it was done right.

I only played SWTOR through a couple class storylines because of companions being so integral to the game. I purposely was rude to every companion I had to interact with. Unfortunetly, Bioware got cold feet and removed companions leaving you before launch so you were stuck with those things no matter what. I dang sure had no interest in developing a silly romance with one of them. :face_vomiting:

it reminds me of the rapport system in Lost Ark, but better. The system in Lost Ark has a flavor of romance and heavy taste of mobile game feel build in, which is kind of cheesy in my opinion. And increasing your rapport with the NPCs in lost ark only grants you the ability to purchase items. They aren’t following you around and fight with you.
