oh eventually one little tip: often enough players are tempted to skip the base campaign - since you are new id really NOT do it. Its end of the season right now anyway, so you arent missing out on anything. Take your time - theres no need to rush =)

What kind of tips are you looking for? One I give you… take your time. Campaign was probably best part of the game. At least the base campaign was. I wasn’t a fan of the expansion campaign. Some people like it though.

Another tip is renown is powerful. It gives you extra skill points and paragon points. You only need to do it once and you’ll have that unlocked on all future characters. Worth taking the time to do.

Um… enjoy the campaign, it’s the ‘‘best’’ time you’ll have in D4.

If you have never played a game with seasons, each season you have to start a brand new character from level 1 with zero in your stash. Seasons usually have themes with special power ups, and they last 3 months. So if you don’t want to do that, choose eternal. Less players, but no need to restart every 3 months.

I also agree, do the campaign first. It is pretty good. Lots of help in trade chat in the game too, just ask for help, if you want.

Lastly, the forum community can be very helpful or very toxic, so take it all with a grain of salt. Good luck and have fun!

A lot of players have been blindsided by the Welcome Back Boost quest. If you’re playing in Eternal realm, it’ll guide you to the fated reliquary in Kyovashad. If you follow the quest and select one of the options, you’ll get boosted to level 50 with some cash and gear, along with having all of your lilith statues unlocked. This can’t be undone.

It’s also not that big of a deal if it happens, but some people get pretty upset about it.

I recommend doing the campaign and unlocking all the extras before the next season starts. Since it is almost the end of the season, unlocking as much as possible will spare you from doing it at the start of the next season.

Stay off the forums :joy:. Welcome to D4, if you need anything just ask, lots here are willing to help.

nah dat game is dead. check the google reviews and their forums. so bad.

  1. Your weapon power majorly drives your damage. Always take a higher base damage weapon no matter what else is on the weapon.
  2. Health is important so don’t be afraid to take affixes that do not boost damage.
  3. When you are playing the game on your first character take the time to complete the areas and increase your reputation to maximum for the area. Renown carries over between characters so you do not have to do it repeatedly.
  4. When you start tempering rolling about 80% of a range of something you want is good enough. You do not need to maximize.

Play until it is no longer fun for you…then stop. :hamster:

Don’t listen to anyone else here. They are either employed by Blizzard or GGG or Elon Musk.

also life is a simulation.

1 - Go to Maxroll’s website and look at how all the mechanics of the game actually work because Blizzard does a terrible job at this. You will specifically want to understand Additive vs. Multiplicative damage, what the effective Armor Cap is, and Elemental Resistance Soft and Hard Cap.
2 - Find a website with a good Character Planner so you have a good idea the leveling path and how to build your character since this is non-existent in-game.
3 - You probably want to copy some Paragon Boards until you get the hang of it and can start straying a little from their Boards. The Paragon system is less than intuitive for new players.
4 - Keep a map up of every location of the Alters of Lilith and methodically hit every single one until you have gotten all of them.
5 - Complete the Renown in each Zone to unlock the Skill/Paragon points. Other rewards are negligible. Just focus on that first.
6 - Spiritborn is straight up busted and will likely continue to be in S7. If you want something easy, that is the Class to pick to start (assuming you have VoH).
7 - Once you get to it, learn the Boss mechanics of the game. D4 has very little Bosses and once you learn the patterns that will build stacks on you late game, you can avoid most of those attacks.
8 - Read your class forum and scan for Skills affecting your build. There is a decent chance that stuff is bugged and interactions that are broken. Some stuff has been broken since Beta and not even bothered to be addressed where some issues are newly introduced. Blizzard does not keep stickies of issues and there is no good way of tracking this. Your community is the best way of doing this unless you know how to properly test everything and have the time to do it.
9 - Look at the Loot Tables for certain Bosses as it relates to Unique Items. You can target farm quite a lot.
10 - Get Strongholds done as soon as you can as it opens up a lot of Dungeons and waypoints. You want to get the Fog of War cleared and Waypoints.

From here you can start to have fun and experiment. Once you complete the campaign and realize how shallow it is then your typical ARPG grind starts (NTTAWT).
