Does the Electrocution Glyph first ability help out Thunder Storm Core Skill? Thunder Storm itself doesn’t actually say “lightning bolts.” There are a variety of passives and aspects that create “Lightning bolts” and Dancing Bolts but does the Thunder Storm Skill main damage count? Blizzard is usually very specific with their wording so that’s why i ask what counts as Lightning bolts? Are Lightning Strikes and Lightning Bolts different mechanics? Can anyone test this?
- Electrocution:
- For every 5 Willpower gathered, your Lightning Bolts and Dancing Bolts grow deadlier, inflicting 13.2-39.6% amplified damage.
- Additional Benefit: Targets struck by your Lightning Bolts or Dancing Bolts sustain 20% additional damage from your attacks [x].
Thunder Storm
Conjure a growing Lightning Storm that deals damage per strike. The number of strikes increase the longer the storm is channeled up to a maximum of 6 at once.
Great question and I’d like to know for sure myself. My personal interpretation is the glyph would not affect lightning storm. Wording for the core skill and the raging lightning storm added ability both use the word “strike”. The glyph and abilities/aspects like Charged Atmosphere, Lightning Dancer’s and Runeworker’s Conduit use the word “bolts”.
But who knows?
I’ll have to test it, but I believe it does. Mainly because the game refers to those lightning strikes as “lightning bolts” in other parts of the game. For example, the passive that automatically does lightning strikes over time to nearby enemies calls itself a lightning bolt.
The electrocution glyph does not help with Thunder Storm directly, but there is an aspect that causes dancing bolts to be released during a critical strike.
Also, it works on the passive our passive skill that causes a lightning bolt to strike a random target every few seconds.
This glyph is well worth taking. I have it maxed out and my thunderstorm just erases crowds of npc’s.
In that case I assume it would also work with Bad Omen as it has the same wording?
Using this glyph with stormclaw…and the damage is nuts

there are only Lightning Bolts (from the skill) and Dancing Bolts (from the aspect).
I’m running it with stampede and shepherd’s to scale the damage of lightning storm.
It’s wiping out packs of elites in no time. More like glass artillery than glass cannon.
there is [lightning storm]>[core]
crits from this core skill can spawn “dancing bolts” with the lightning dancers aspect
3 sources for “lightning bolts” (seperate from core skill but [lightning storm] can be used to proc 2 of these)
- the runeworker aspect
-charged atmosphere (passive)
-bad omen (passive)
