New game breaking exploit!

If you swap a 2h weapon in enchanter then put in a dif weapon you get a different set of possible rolls.

you no longer have to keep rerolling and getting the same 5 affix options.

Like the BiS sword that’s stuck rolling 1 stat for 12 times and costing me double to reroll because I only have 1 random Affix vs what SHOULD be 2 random Affixes?

exactly, no more rerolling 10 times to keep getting the same set of affixes show up.

So i just stick the 2h in the window and swap it with the 1h and select “enchant”?
Or do I have to enchant the 2h first then swap?

edit - I really can’t stand this current ‘iteration’ of the Occultist.
Blind rerolls, 143,000 jumps to 854,000… or 453,000 or … so inconsistent and expensive and bugged to boot.

Chris is referring to the Occultist BUG where an item gets stuck in an Affix LOOP.
1 of 2 “Random” rolls is forever locked in as X Affix hence costing us double the materials and gold due to the fact we only have 1 Random Affix and 1 Fixed.
-50% Random Affixes = 2x price per roll.

love that when a bug is harming player gameplay its up to ourselves to figure out how we can play around it, but when a bug is discovered which gives players loot in a loot grind game devs wake up in the middle of the night, drive into the office, disable the items all together and have an emergency meeting.

At least I assume that’s what Chris is referencing.
People have run tests and there’s Loops and many many repeats.
So I assume they’re saying a 2h weapon will ‘reset’ the affix pool available(in case it gets hard locked in bugged mode).

I still don’t know exactly HOW they’re saying to do this …

Well it’s a bit pricey to begin with and it’s been shady since day 1.
Wudijo…Wujido…always get spelling wrong - he did a nice test a bit back that clearly showed how broken it is.

It’s been known for some time that there’s a problem.

For me: It always “felt” off and over time I’ve personally confirmed that yes, something is wrong.

Though with gloves and rings when I need APS or Crit Chance… I’ve never complained :smiley:

i also thought something was up when i would roll 2 different values of fire dmg at the same time multiple times on an item. that just isnt realistic probability without it being broken.

i mean … i feel ya, and i hate a lot of d4…

but - in blizzards defense here (i know…i know…), do you want them to disable occultist? or what?

honestly yes. if they are aware it is wasting player time/gold/resources it should get the same treatment.

Someone posted pics of Double Overpower Rolls - iirc they also had OP Affix on their item.
Feels bad.

D3’s Mystic went through a vast number of QOL adjustments over the years.
They should take a page(ideally the most recent) out of that “Enchanter’s” book.

Finally - IF prices are not going to change then a RULE needs to be implemented.
Rule of Progression - Occultist should be something we work and grind for but there’s always the chance it IMPROVES - never degrades.
Basically:
The Occultist should NEVER give a Lower Value of an Affix already on an item.
ie. you have 3.2% Crit. 2% is min & 7% is max.
At these prices you should absolutely never see anything Lower than 3.2% → your investment should = Improvement.
Keep the RNG 100% but don’t give me lesser values.
