New characters every season

Why is it that we have to create a new character every season. I kinda want to just play my same character.

So play on the Eternal Realm? Not seeing an issue here. Lately there hasn’t been much difference between seasonal and eternal if we’re being honest. Not since S4 anyway.

Ohhh that was possible in Age Of Conan :laughing: Fresh chars roaming a small start area got pewepewed by bowmen all the time.

Or Ultima Online. You start your first character and meet a very polite wanderer. “Hello there. May i port you the big cities for free?”

“Of course. Thank you.”

hahahaha… scoundrel ports you to a small island. “And now please hand over your stuff” :laughing:

I never recall asking anyone that politely.

I know that game was a product of its time, but i had such a great time going from dungeon to dungeon to dungeon, PKing, porting to my house and tossing yet another set of armor and weapons in their respective piles, then doing it all again. By the time you finished and went back to the beginning,the same players had farmed up another pack of loot for you to steal all over again. It was an endless cycle of murder.
I was ‘red’ for so long that I couldnt go to town for years, felt like.

Because that’s how seasons are structured and it’s how they should be! NO ONE wants to log into a new season with a lvl 100 character all geared out and smash through all the content in 12 minutes then all you have is people crying there is no content!

I imagine you prefer destiny 2 type seasons. Sorry if I’m incorrect in that assumption, but such seasonality can’t exist in a loot hunter based on having an expansive loot table.

Every season, it would have to be entirely reworked. Which is just not possible. Maybe with advancements in AI something one day can be done like that. But certainly not now.

So, resets are the only feasible way to go. Plus a lot of people really enjoy fresh economies.

It’s not eternal though. Every time you log on they have ruined all your gear.

In D3, you can ‘restart’ your old character and start your journey anew in a new season. Perhaps that’s what he meant.

I think the OP is looking for a rebirth option, where you get the same character outfit and name but start at level 1 with starting gear.

Honestly surprised they haven’t done this. Would save on character slots.

Leveling a new character makes sence if there were big changes made to the classes. But other wise, It should be an option. Like having the option to start at level 50. I myself don’t mind leveling.

It would indeed be very nice to rebirth the same characters, that reside in the same slots to start anew each season.

You can smash through the content in 12 minutes with a fresh character.

If you mean gear up then why do 1-100 again.

Seasons are something that should not be in Diablo, making people unlock new characters in every new season is a great pain.

Seasons have been a thing since d2 and exists in everyone arpg at this point so it’s not going anywhere and majority of people do like which means that the games should have it
