Want to be a bloody screaming Barbarian dropping down and severing the arteries of your enemies while you freeze them and laugh as they sit helpless and wait to die?
Look no further!
Thinking about running a freeze/bleed build for season 1 with that new Azurewrath sword they just announced and will add with it other freeze/chill bonuses as needed too.
I loved freeze builds on my sorcerer, and want to try to always have a way to freeze on every class.
Looks like I have another world first build concept, like my legendary sorcerer ice bomb build
Also, it may be better to not focus on the bleed core skill Rend, if the spread/pierce effect from another core skill would increase the hits you can generate to proc the LH% chance to freeze.
This would necessitate the inclusion of bleed into basic skill until I am mana neutral if that is a need to remove the need to have a basic skill towards max level/endgame.
And then this would mean I would have to focus more on the other skills/layering cooldown skills/ultimate to add more bleed.
This also could be a great way to focus on Thorns as a secondary damage source, which most likely would be phased out towards endgame, but is fantastic for leveling towards 100.
Hey that sounds really cool and fun so we’ve decided to remove bleed and the chance to chill from the barbarian. You can still get the affix on items but it will be greyed out
Yours truly

I did smile when I saw that sword cause I was planning on a “Lucky Leaper” build for S1. Frostburn gloves, Butcher’s Cleaver, Ancestral Echoes aspect, Leap + Upheaval, and as much Lucky Hit chance as possible (maybe a Walking Arsenal build with the bonus Lucky Hit with all three buffs up).
Now, with that sword, it might have even more of a chance to work. Just blasting out CC with everything.

Looks fun. Can make a freezing whirlwind build using Frostburn, Penitent Greeves, and now this new sword.
I never liked whirlwind myself, but I have been thinking about Upheaval, as I play with a group, so all the CC we can stack the better.
I like the idea of being a burst bomb that has maximum cast once and done…tick…tick…boom style damage.
Do barbarians have aspects/items that add a % chance to add bleed damage to any skill?
I know they have Tough as Nails, to add bleed damage from Thorns, which I why I wanted to semi-focus on that while leveling.
Didnt you say you played with devs cornball? Why not ask them yourself?
Also i thought you said the sorc will be amazing in s1?
I want to start with a different class since we will be leveling as a group for the first time, they wanted a new class combination.
I am flexible.
The sorc gets some great new items/aspects, that I don’t think people even realize yet lol, once again I see the builds before anyone else.
The “devs” I play with are clearly not hired for how well they understand game mechanics lol. For all I know they could just say they are devs, not trying to get anyone fired and demanding them show their ID/badge/paycheck.
The game is heading in the wrong direction, and I am just playing it until Baldur’s Gate III/Starfield releases.
I took a few years away from D3, and ended up loving the Necro and the changes they made, looks like D4 is going to be another one to pick up off the shelf in a few years.
Not exactly an item/aspect, but I’m using dual handed sword expertise, guaranteed +20% bleed damage to all skills that deals direct damage with a weapon.
