Blizzard posted a new article about the new season where they say that with the new battlepass system the battlepass token will be automatically used and the tier skip token will turn in 1800 plat on April 28. As i put at the end of the thread ↓
So if I understand it right to get the most use of those tokens. I have one of each so I can use the battlepass token for this season to get 700 plat and hold the tier skip token to get 1800 plat right? That will be 2500 plat in total.
Note: they did said that in the new battlepass relicary system will be 200 plat on the free track/relicary but they didn’t said about plat on the premiums one and in the image they shared about one of the tracks it didn’t have any so that’s 500 less plat than is currently which I would be loosing if I let the premium pass token to next season right?
""What happens to Battle Pass Tokens I currently own?
Anyone who owns an unspent Battle Pass Token will have it automatically exchanged on April 28. Owners will receive the following items depending on the type of Battle Pass Token they own:
you can be certain that the 200 free plat is the maximum we’ll get. so instead of paying just 3$ each season (1000-700 plat) we now have to pay 8$ (1000-200) if we want everything. a 266% increase. These tarrifs mans. not even Sanctuary is spared
I read that events will use the reliquary system, but not that they will be paid.
The FOMO is definitely bigger on the cosmetics than on the emote. But on another end, the value for money is better now.
I am not sure if it is confirmed that we really just get 200, I would be surprised if so.
In fact, I would I assume that we would get more free plats in total, to compensate with the fact people are now more likely to pay for the wings and pet.
My guess is noone bought the accelerated pass (way too overpriced for an emote noone needs), so they go for 1 pair of matching wings each season. Still overpriced but at least something.
Yeah, it was very much a vanity purchase. If you bought it you knew you were overpaying since for anybody that really plays the game regularly there’s just no way you weren’t going to get through tier 90. The value was supposed to be loaded on those tier skips but unless you were busy on some work project until there were a few days left in the season and needed to use it for “emergency” purposes, you just didn’t have use of it. So you went from 90 items, some good and some bad, for $10, to $25 for all that plus an emote. The deal on the regular BP was actually pretty good, but that last $15 was a doozy. Like you said, at least the wings are somethin’.
You’re certainly not alone. We all have our lines in the sand. If they didn’t price things for whales to eke out that marginal revenue increase, I’d have probably dropped about $2,000 on the shop at this point because I’m a foolish collector and like to own every last bit of collectible this and that in the games I play, but they crossed my value threshold for the packs and have instead gotten a big fat zero out of me from the shop.
I don’t understand how anybody would think Blizz didn’t take this opportunity to be as sneaky as possible. The system is designed to take more money from you.
