New barbarian unique ring is really bad

Seriously who designs barbarian items??
This is something we should get excited about instead we got: Spend 100 fury in 3 seconds to get chritical hit damage… Seriously are you all without any imagination???

Just disappointing…and fix other barbarian uniqes too… They are all literally not worth using…

Also fix the grandfather… Since the nerf even uber unique is meh.

I seriously want to know who designed barb uniques…

Grandfather is about 40% multiplicative damage, how can this be a useless in season 2?

you seriously need to take a step back, breathe and learn how damage formula works. that ring is completely insane for barb.

It’s not about damage only it’s just boring. Well at least I should be glad it’s not some cooldown mechanic every X seconds.

But seriously stats on the ring are also bad. Like if i stack crit chance and damage why would i put on that ring?

Also the 100 fury in 3 seconds is something thats hard to do. What it also does is push more into generator/spender type build.

100 fury in 3 seconds is very very easy, as easy as 2 Hammer of the Ancients in 3 seconds, that is, we get 100% crit every 2 Hammer of the Ancients cast.

I’m doing the “Walking arsenal” Barb with DS, Upheaval and DB

That ring is like Godsent for what I’m currently doing :slight_smile:

I mean I didn’t want it initially (wanted to play Upheaval for the Vuln application only and hard CC with damage vs CC-ed and DB ftw, but the passive requires to use Dual Wield as well so swapped my kick to DS)

So yeah, Upheaval + DB, that’s what the ring is for and again would be literally BiS for what I’m doing currently :slight_smile:

I mean the ring isnt terrible. I suppose it could be better just like everything else in this game, but how much more power does one need to play this easy easy game?

I mean pretty much every class just mows stuff down on a constant basis. Especially if using a meta build, but come on……

Are some people so spoiled to actually criticize specific class new items that ARE decent?

Wow… How about some unique that isn’t boring x ammount of dps? How about something you actually make your build around?

You can literally add this to any barb build and all it does is adds dps.

If they made a ring that increases damage by 300% it would literally be the same thing.

People complain about not having uniques for any build. Now people complain about having a unique that is used for any build by calling it boring?

I suppose you cannot make everyone happy all the time, but what do you want specifically? Do you want a WW unique that shoots unicorns out of the backside crying tears of Elton john songs.? A HOTA ring that instead of a bright white light there is a rainbow?

I am not sure why you are calling it boring. If it isnt plus to crit, CD, dmg, skills, lucky, etc…what is there supposed to be? What would make it “not boring”?

There is only so much that can be done in items to make them functional and desired.

It’s not bad. It’s actually super OP for hota. There isn’t enough difficulty in the game to use it to the point where you’d drop a shout ring, but when those Uber NM lvls come in Dec it might be a good choice. No telling how much damage you will need.

Looks good to me with encroaching wrath for deathblow.

First, set up an overpower one way or another. Bash crits for example.

Pop WorB then kick to dump all your fury. The ring AND encroaching wrath are both primed AND you have stacks of WotB.

Deathblow the day light saving time out of something.

Barb ring is amazing according to rob… the rogue ring however… rogues got the shaft… lol

The only sub skill i have doesnt even get put on my bar. They should have done the free imbue one…

rogue ring is pretty cool. It’s like challenge taunt shout but a lot better at holding aggro. I used it last season with my barrage/trap build. not the main heart obviously, lol, but one of the three. :wink:

IF that damn “Can occur every 12 seconds” was shorter, or just gotten rid of, it would be great for poison TB.

plop poison trap, dash out, plop another one. then just back and forth between packs. advanced TB proc’ing the CDR like crazy cause all the bunched up mobs, and bladedancer return distance being pretty high causing the orbit to do good damage.

they were on such a good track. then they added that 12 second BS… come on. the ring is useless with that 12 second limitation, not just for TB rogue either. do none of the devs actually play rogue?

I mean it’s a huge bonus for meta HOTA speedgrinding and meta deathblow boss oneshot build

New uniques, are ment to create different ways to play, and its exactly what it does =)

how exactly does the rogue ring create a different way to play? every 12 seconds it does more damage and lures enemies.

its good for ranged builds sure, but it doesnt create a different way to play. its just safer since mobs wont come to you. but again, it doesnt change the play at all.
and its bad for melee builds, and also doesnt create a different way to play.

Barbs at least get good stats

Attack speed in a slot that cant normally roll that??

Rogues ring doesnt even have good stats and actually the worst unique ability

You say that barbs ring sucks but I guarantee 20-25% of barbs will be wearing that ring

Less than 2% or rogues will use their new class ring

New barb ring is only good for meta barb right now.

Pointless for ww barb, pointless for rend barb. Pointless for thorn barb.

I honestly would have been a bit more excited for the defensive malignent tbh.

I think all the malignant rings are trash to be honest. Affixes are subpar on most of them, and unique abilites only affect a small portion of builds played for those classes.
