why everything cost so much gold?
I always run out of gold everytime i went to town, does it need to be adjusted?
Just the other day someone was crying that he had too much gold and wanted more gold sinks.
Now people are complaining that they do not have enough gold, make up your mind people.
If you run out of gold each time you go to town, it seems like gold might be well balanced.
Not the same people.
I think gold is fine as is. You can do whispers if you need more since they still give crazy amounts of gold.
Think about it like this, there’s three options for gold:
- You are always low on gold
- You have just the right amount of gold
- You always have too much gold
In the case of 3, gold might as well not even exist. You could argue the same for 2, since if you never have to worry about gold, it might as well not even be a system in the game. So I think having to be cognizant of your gold supply makes it a proper resource you have to manage, which is better than having it be a complete non-resource.
Put simply, yes. It needs to be ajusted abit
I spend couple days farming gold from whisper
but doesn’t matter how much i got
after going to town to reroll or upgrade items, i go broke again and again
very frustrating
i know we are only 3 days of the season
but i dont want to spend the whole season just to do whispers
this need to be changed
Do more whispers, best way to make gold.
also, dont masterwork everytime just because you can. if it doesnt have 2 greater affixes at least there is no reason to masterwork it, as youll replace that item pretty soon anyway.
it does not need to be adjusted, you just cant spend every single ounce of gold you have at every single opportunity.
the gold will come later on this i promise
just pick up every item and vendor it, going out of your way to do whispers makes no sense unless its tied to the progression of your character
a few weeks of passively making gold that way should be enough
That was probably me, and I do think this was a good direction. But what I probably hadn’t taken into account was that gold drops were increased as part of Season 3 (like Obols are now for Season 4).
Just gotta keep working for the Tree!
Tree is like 1 mil gold one item is like 40k
At least around level 60
tree whisper isn’t an endgame activity, we shouldn’t have to spend too much time on it just to get *little golds (everything is expensive). The pit is where we should spend most of our time.
It really depends what level you are playing at
If you are not level 100 and maxing out every new piece of gear in town as you level you are playing it wrong and will always be broke.
If you are level 100 it should only be an upgrade here and there so no problem either.
So which is it?
Tree of whisper is an endgame activity, regardless of it being a good or bad one.
Or not? It already is D3.1, no need to make it D3.05
with gold this much expensive, we can hardly change our build, only get to stick with just one build will be boring quick
blizz thinks every player hoards billions of gold.
they’ve never observed reality.
rolling an item right costs me about 100 mil gold on average - each. (some go with 50k, some with 500 mil, 100 mil is a fair average for someone who’s found in the alps by rng).
with at least 9 items it’s 900 mil gold.
returning a quest of whipsers gets me 4 mil on average.
that means 225 whisper quest for JUST one set of gear.
completing the whisper bar takes me at least 5 mins.
that means i need about 19 hours of goldfarming (this is excluding all mats) for just one set of gear…
and yea… there’s always more than one set… always a piece to swap.
and that’s without the 5mil bill to reset masterworking…
no dev plays d4 with a normal customer account. they’ll never know what they do to players.
d4 became a frpg. the only action here is farming.
nothing needs to be changed. you can make 50-100mil per hour doing whispers. that is sufficient. it sounds like you are wasting money.
players who cooks their own builds also being punished as well especially the itemization just changed. alot of errors and trials need to be done before we can perfect our builds. but it’s costly and frustrating.
Make respecs cheap up until lvl 75, and then very costly the higher lvl you get after that.
Plenty of time for experiments.
