Nerf Herders...I Don't Get it

Yes, Spiritborn is OP. It’s not world endingly OP - the really silly builds need some very shiny gear to work in the hardest content but sure. The evade build is pretty nutty and there’s another one that people are going to be seeing in the wild soon too which may be stronger, albeit not as fast or flashy.

That said…this isn’t that much stronger than some of the shenanigans barbs or sorcs have been able to perpetrate in past seasons.

But again - sure.

What I don’t get is all the whinging.

This is all but a SP game.

It’s certainly not competitive. Nobody is getting hot and bothered about world firsts in Diablo IV. And to my mind, half the fun in a game like this is finding really broken stuff, be it combinations of items or builds and eventually breaking the game.

I understand that not everyone wants to play this way - but why does it bother you so much if SBs are running around pooping fire and lightning?

Let people have their fun, you are more than welcome to not play one and it’ll get nerfed for S7.

tl:dr but yes I agree - nerf barbs

…How on earth is that TL/DR?

Seriously, that’s not even half a page.

Interesting. No thanks. I’ll continue to let people know to pick their dogs crap in my yard.

You mean like literally world ending? Probably not, but it is pretty game breaking for many people

Blizzard has said that this is a multiplayer game though. The Dark Citadel is certainly multiplayer.

Cause it’s the fastest way to destroy and completely divide the playerbase and trivialize the game

  • One “stuck” at T2 trying to kill Pit 36 and another “sweeping” through T4 and asks for more already in the second week of a season (or the game to be harder) - guess what, wouldn’t happen if there weren’t those “T4 sweepers” out there

The other reason is scaling and balance, lower numbers keep additive bonuses competitive and viable, bigger numbers destroy everything except multipliers

  • Would you ever consider a LH that drops a meteor that does 30k damage over 5% Crit damage increase once your Crit already does 10M (or worse - trillions) ?

The third reason is what do all the other people that DON’T exploit bugs or play “meta” builds end up having as a playing experience ?

  • There are thousands of combinations of skills, builds, paragon nodes, and whatnot and no matter how many buffs out there there will still be something not affected by buffs i.e. behind-forgotten… So instead of going into that “saga” of making sure that a thousand builds and combinations work one by one - just nerf the strongest ones (and if need be some time later bring strongest content down) instead

And lastly but not the least

  • This disaster has already happened before (S1 and S2), AND we’re in the middle of a number squish => so why not use the opportunity (and the cycle update) and do it right for once for a change ? :person_shrugging:

Wait until you join a helltide or world boss where there are 3-6 of these evade sb’s and everything lags like the hamsters that power the server couldnt keep up.

Balance can be done a lot of different ways.

Spirit born does not need to be nerfed.

All of the other classes should be buffed.

Simple.

The problem is that they made T4 too hard for the other classes. Which is to say if you aren’t SB you are farming less efficiently in a loot farming game. Had the average build been able to reach T4 and comfortably farm it (basically 1 shot everything) then SB wouldn’t be much of an issue.

Why ?, so that the existing content that is out there already is not enough and people “ask for more” in the 6th day ?

Why can’t you just understand that nerfing is ALWAYS the better and preferred option, always without exception and the reason is super simple - MATHS

Talk about pure simple logic and maths 50 times and we back to fantasy selling (over and over again)

That build is not causing lag. Blizzard can see this information. Do you think you’re going to trick them into nerfing it?

That’s not true at all. My friend and I are both playing spin2win rogue and he is crushing t4 already. I’ve not had as much time to play yet.

How? No one is forcing them to play the build or the class.

All this crying about SB. Not all builds are the same. And many are gear intensive.

Let it have its fun for this season. Not hurting anything.

To add: folks cried about barbs and certain sorc builds. Those got nerfed hard, so players were upset, and here we are again.

We are there again because there are STILL broken things out there (and as far as anyone can see obviously untested)

So stop sulking into their tactics and demand a 100% well-tested proper balance for a change

I’m not the one sulking. Look up the definition.

Just let it go. Blizz is not going to change, so roll with it.

Next time around, or sooner, things will change.

Balance? Sure, but is that realistic for this company?

most builds for other classes top out at around pit 55-60ish?

then you have SBs speed clearing 100s in 4 mins.

balance, lol.
