Everyone sensible knows that Bone Spear is insanely over powered.
I don’t understand why it has been left as is for so long. I strongly hope that it gets a major nerf as soon as possible. No other build/class comes anywhere near hitting for 15 million damage at a time.
Having finally seen first hand how fast 1 bone spear necro can destroy a world boss in less than 5 seconds. Why is this allowed to go on?
Bone Spears current state is far worse for Diablo 4 than 142 people having a Shako in the Eternal realm due to a mistake.
lol, it hasn’t been nerfed for this long because the devs don’t think it is broken or needing a nerf . You kind of answered your own question there.

In all seriousness, bone spear doesn’t do 15 million dmg, it only does that damage if all return splinters hit the target. I can see why you don’t understand because you likely don’t play bone spear necro lol
With that said, they probably will shift meta to something else by Season 1, but likely not by nerfing bone spear, they will probably buff other spec to shift meta.
Most people who cry about Bonespear Necro is because they watched some dude on Youtube beat Uber Lilith with it. Bonespear is actually garbage for dungeon farming…Necro in general is terrible, just really a slow slow class with zero mobility. It’s way more fun to play every other class that actually has fast movement mechanics. Necro is just a wheelchair.
Yea, I for one will definitely stop playing Necro if bone spear is nerfed into the ground and they don’t bring anything else up. The only other viable build for reliable NM dungeon clears is blood and the idea of a blood themed Necromancer really just does not appeal to me in any way lmao. I didn’t pick up a Necromancer to roleplay as a vampire, no offense to anyone who is into that sort of thing.
And you die SO fast too, like if you don’t have top of the line stuff to one shot clear everything, you flat out die to one hit. It really is kind of depressing lol.
not to mention you would have to roll pretty prefectly and build it exactly like such in paragon board a lot of limitations needs to have applied for bone spear necro to do that in uber lilith - and that was 1 streamer posting 1 video.
There are other videos out there showcasing Bone spear necro killing uber lilith, at the same time, a lot of other classes also showcased killing uber lilith LOL
Bonespear is a one trick pony, basically does well against Uber lilith but really sucks against any other content. Pretty boring to play honestly. But sadly if Blizz nerfed it Necro would just in general be a completely dead class. These people crying for nerfs are really weird though, it’s like Bonespear is effecting their gameplay personally in a PvE game…I mean they might be getting denied from clans because they aren’t a Bonespear necro…not sure.
I bet is they won’t nerf bone spear. Fundamentally bone spear is not even op and is working as intended like it or not. We’ve gone through several balance patch now and even nerf that goes through very quickly to fix broken build - dev never touched Bone spear should be enough said.
Likely to shift meta in season 1, like i mentioned they will buff blood or shadow or minion (maybe) up to par instead of nerfing bone spear.
Personally, I don’t think any AoE ability should be able to kill a pinnacle boss in 90 seconds. Some are even going as low as 45 seconds.
Now if bonespear was strictly single target, I could see how that’s balanced. But nope, no damage drop off at all. It does 50 million damage to everything it hits w/ all splinters.
Because there’s classes that will be lucky to hit 10 million dps with fully maxed out perfect gear.
