Nephalem lifespan

They do these big time jumps between Diablo games which some think are to justify the previous titles heroes not being present (Assumed to die of old age). They don’t appear to have immortality the way angels and demons do. But If Nephalem were as strong and epic as the game’s lore seems to suggest. One would assume they would also have much longer lifespan’s than typical human beings. I can’t imagine them passing away between 70-100 years old they way you expect a real life person to. The barb in Diablo 3 looks like he’s in his 60’s or even 70’s just giant and muscular as hell. If that’s how he looks and can physically perform in his old age then it’s reasonable to assume his lifespan would be way longer than a non fictional human beings.

I have ushered in the lore theory phase of the seasonal forums. The season is so dead now we talk about lore.

At least we know Druid will die of diabetes

Idk about the other nephalem

I don’t think superhumans can get diabetes.

Then Druid might be the first in Diablo history

For the most part the hero’s from the past games get killed by something else before being able to die of old age

That kind of sucks. Guys that killed Diablo. Get killed by random demons.

From a lore standpoint I like to think of them as still active just in different parts of the world. Nephalem are not omniscient so their inherent awareness is not guaranteed meaning that whoever the Horadrim get with at the time is up on the challenge block to do the thing. The Horadrim are technically the only real circuitry of information in the lore that’s consistent and “human”.

Funny part is, there are a few characters from D3 that survived into D4. The Scoundrel for one.

Keep in mind in D4 we aren’t Nephilim. We’re just some idiot that drank the kool-aid (Lilith’s blood).

lol. does that mean the necromancer will die from anorexia as well? hehe

Will admit that the whole Lilith arc was a let down. If the devs took a risk we could of had our first Grey-area Diablo which could have opened up so many story possibility. It’s too bad they went the traditional story arc that the previous diablos have.

For the record though this is wishful thinking. I know that the sin wars book pretty much destroyed this idea. Makes you wonder why they bothered even creating the sinwar lore if it wasn’t going to change anything(despite some re-cons like Leoric having two sons and sanctuary being created by exiles.)

I can give a lot of insight into the lore. Ive read all the books and comics multiple times lol its great man.

they should be living for hundreds of years almost one thousand years. yeah the lore sux

As usual, you can thank d3 for adding garbage even to a lore. Everything about the Nephalems is just ridiculous

Firstly we were fed the Kool-Aid.
Secondly it is hinted at the we are more than human in the story, or not just any ordinary human.

Well we aren’t human anymore thanks to the blood. I don’t remember it saying we were different before the blood though.

You mean malnourishment?

No, because that’s still a functional “I eat things” body type. I swear people have the dumbest takes when it comes to body types lol.

Anorexia would lead to malnourishment. Necromancers survive off souls. Not a lot of calories in those. The ultimate goal is for them to die so they can resurrect themselves anyway and not have to worry about food.

Anorexia nervosa is fundamentally linked to malnutrition. This eating disorder involves extreme food restriction driven by an intense fear of weight gain and a distorted body image. As a result, individuals with anorexia often consume insufficient calories and nutrients, leading to various forms of malnutrition.

But then why does Mephisto help the “normal human” in the very beginning before the blood petals?

When it comes to Nephalem (Nephalim) and humans, humans are just the descendants of Nephalem after they lost their powers…and Inarius tuned the world stone to take the power of the Nehphalem away. Once the world stone was destroyed (D2:LOD) …it would make sense the these powers would eventually start to show again.

Given so many other people ate Lilith’s blood petals and were still normies, I would think the player’s powers come from something other than that, and from before that event.

It’s possible. So basically we’re a mutt with some power is what you’re saying.
