Need time to make sure launch is at the exact same time

Yup, 30 years here and counting. I was more poking at the “exact same time” phrase. That’s just not realistic and smacks of a made up reason.

Nope, my D/L said 1800 today…not allowed any earlier

Seems like they are placing unnecessary stress on themselves. Whatever, not the end of the world.
I have worked in the IT PC/Server Realm for 35 years, I have been in similar situations where a rollout didn’t roll and you find yourself up until the crack of dawn trying to get it working

Don’t know what to tell you… it was installed on my GF’s xbox on Saturday.

Wudijo says it’s because Steam didn’t have the patch available for advance download.

Based on a promise is all… If you promise something, then provide something else, people will complain. This is just one possibility though (and quite likely), but it’s also possible that they found a last minute bug that affects character migration, logging in, or something and are trying to rush a fix for it.

They’ve already stated some items won’t be ready, so I’m guessing they had to push the most stable build before fixing everything, and determined that whatever this thing is that’s a problem had to go in before they launch; and that would cause the platform release issue as a result because of course… they have to get the software approved on each platform.

if you read the post earlier. B-net was available Sept 30, XB on Oct 5th, Steam not until launch

Ah yes, back in the “drive across town to the data center” and heartbleed days.

Blizzard strikes again lol . . . Based on the original global release times . . . I am guessing a 6 hour delay . . .

Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred PC, PlayStation, and Xbox global release times:

  • Irvine: 4pm PDT, October 7
  • New York: 7pm EDT, October 7
  • São Paulo: 8pm BRT, October 7
  • London: 12am BST, October 8
  • Berlin: 1am CEST, October 8
  • Istanbul: 2am TRT, October 8
  • Seoul: 8am KST, October 8
  • Sydney: 10am AEDT, October 8
  • Auckland: 12pm NZDT, October 8

Umm, yeah, it was me that posted that.

I was originally asking for clarification if we Steam users still needed to wait for launch or could download at the previously announced time. In the end, the download started as scheduled.

whoops, sorry didn’t catch that part :zipper_mouth_face:

Clearly a console issue.

This makes absolutely zero sense. They cancelled the launch when most of us would have started at the exact same time, and now have changed the launch to happen when no one will start at the exact same time.

Zero sense I agree. Its just excuses.

Where are you getting 6 hour delay from? did they post something new?

No its just a guess knowing how blizzard rolls

That “global start” has been a joke right from the beginning. Europe starting at 1am? LOL

Maybe over in America you can still play this evening with that delay. I doubt many people will stay up till 4 or 5am to join that global start.

Blizzard should do what other games do on Steam, have it open Battle.net and let the updates run there. At least Steam players would be on time then.

so what sorta small delay your posted time is a fraud a sham so when exactly are you doing your world start so every one gets in at same time no ques no delays here there i mean im fealing since you droped the ball on launch yet again every single person that paid for the expansion should get a 50% or greater refund

Blizzard out here going hard at deleting angry gamer posts right now lol

I keep seeing whole post threads getting deleted.

Maybe focus that energy on delivering the game on time instead.
