So I came back after a year away, made the mistake of clicking on the buff button, & now my previous Frost Mage became a Lightning Mage with a bunch of legendary equipment & a full build for Lightning at level 50. I’m OK with that, but what do I do when I get to 60? I don’t have the VoH expansion.
FWIW I guess I’ve got a couple full sets of gear in my stash box for that, so initial gear is no big deal. At the moment I’m just looking for aspect dungeons & doing side quests so I can hit 60 & move on to the “real” game
Any suggestions? Eternal server, if that changes anything. MTIA!
If you’ve been gone that long, many things have changed.
No more World Tiers or monster levels. We’re on a D3 difficulty system now. You can go up to the fourth difficulty level (Penitent) before 60, then there’s four Torment difficulties. Suggest you go straight to Penitent or at least Expert while leveling to 60.
There is now a Greater Rift analog. At 60 you can do Pit of the Artificer in Cerrigar. Timed roguelike levels with a boss at the end. You need to achieve tier 20 here to unlock the Torment difficulties. This is how you level glyphs.
There are also Tormented bosses. This is the way to farm Uniques you need. If they weren’t around when you last played, look them up online. Farm the uniques you need for your build here.
Nightmare dungeons now are only useful for materials to improve your gear. This is an end game system, so don’t bother with these much until you hit 60. Whispers and Helltides are better for leveling. If you get an Infernal Compass, that is also good for leveling, just look up a guide for “Infernal Hordes” before you try one.

The best advice I can give is to stop playing sorcerer on D4.
Dev won’t listen unless they see empty servers.
sorcs need to understand this if they want a real change in the class.
