Need more Skill Slots

We need to have more skill slots. There is no way 6 slots will ever be enough for endgame.

At Lvl 25, we had 26 skill points. 24 from levels, 2 from exploration/quest rewards. We max at Lvl 100, giving us 99 skills points plus probably 10-20 or so skill points from other sources. There are enough skill points to max out . Assuming 110 skill points. 48 gets us 6 skills maxed out. Assuming we max 10 passives, that’s 30 more. 78/110ish. 32 points left. There’s no way people don’t pick up an extra couple skills. Without more skills slots, these go to waste, meaning we need to go for passives. Meaning that most characters in a class largely become the same with only small variations based on primary skills choice. Then there’s items. Items of all kinds give bonus skill ranks. This includes granting skills you don’t have ranks in. So…why? It’s a complete waste if we can’t utilize the skills we get granted by items. Or, it becomes a carrot on a stick for us to chase items that only grant skills bonuses for the skills we use. And jewelry gives +1 all [type] skills. Big waste. Why give +1 all Mastery skills to grant me access to 3 more skills I have to fight onto my bar? And Necro gets super screwed. Summon skelly/golem not on the bar? No summons for you. Forget that you have nifty curses, Corpse Explosion, and bone skills. If Necro has to run off 4 skills to have summons, massive L.

On the other Hand, if they suddenly say “Hey, once you get your passive at Lvl 33 no more skill points, or skill points every other level” Then we’re getting pigeonholed pretty bad. D2 had just as many skill options and roughly the same amount of available skill points and it had L2 shift. But in D2, we had synergies. Most of our points went into our synergies to fuel our big spammy skills. In d4, with the same amount of skill choices and skill points, we have no synergies, only passives that cap at 3 ranks. And skills cap at 5. That gives us EVERY reason to use 10 skills, but we get 6. It’s all backwards. So, either give us L2 shift for 10 skill slots, or 12 if we can move potion to D pad and make LB a dedicated skill slot, or give us Synergies/Higher max rank. But since launch is 3months away, they aren’t gonna rebalance everything for synergies or rank increases. So, move some buttons around and give us our skills.

You are most likely just getting skill points to 50. After that you’ll gey paragon points to 100. Making out skill ranks and passives will use up points.

Yes, you only get 50 points to assign skills, plus some handfuls.

Still, I agree.

There should be an option to use L2 to switch toolbars, or to assign it a single skill like now.

3 face buttons, R1, R2 with L2 as a switch, means you either have a simple layout with 6 controls or an advanced layout with 10.

Of course, hold or toggle settings on the toolbar switch.

10 is the most abilities most players will want to manage. You could get spread too thin.

But for Pet Druids, Necromancers, Hybrid Rogues… even some highly mobile barbarians and sorcerers, those extra 4 slots could make life easier.

Even as a Support/Curse Necro, running Decompose, Blight, Bone Prison, Wither, Iron Maiden, and Bone Spirit as a spender, with AoD as ultimate

… I found myself short on slots due to Raise Skeleton. I would also have taken Bloodmist if I had additional controls, because any Necro could benefit from 2 second Immune status.

Not happening, go back to D2/ lost shart

There are alot of passives you can invest points into, which while not sexy do help you. As a necro i find myself wanting one more slot but it just made me look close tlat the abilities and determi e which ones go best together.

I think the way they designed skills is that you only get value out of a few.

One core, when special, a support an ultimate and a wild card.

After that the effect of any skills uninvested in, would be negligible.

And with cooldown, they want to limit what you can have active so you can’t use everything while waiting, breaking their gameplay loop
