Need more challenging content

I hope that Blizz doesnt get gun shy about trying new things in Diablo. Personally I think the traps were a good idea that needed aome fine tuning.

People want “engaging” content and then complain if they have to do anything else than hit a couple buttons and watch monsters explode.

I hope traps stay in some form. I hope they get buffed. I hope world bosses and end game bosses get super buffed across the board.

I hope that Blizz continues to innovate and provide more challenging and engaging content in the future.

Did you not read the patch notes? :hamster:

I thought it was just Malphas that got buffed.

Oh he did.

But they seem to be heading in the other direction when it comes to everything else.

Vaults and Arcane Tremors

We have made

We have made multiple quality-of-life changes to the player experience in the Vaults and Arcane Tremors.

  • Consuming a Pearl of Warding at a Statue of Zoltun Kulle now grants 10 stacks of Zoltun’s Warding, instead of 3.
  • The max stacks of Zoltun’s Warding has been increased from 300 to 999.
  • The grace period for losing stacks of Zoltun’s Warding when being hit by multiple traps at once has been increased from 1 second to 1.5 seconds. (Ex: If 3 darts hit you in the span of 1.5 seconds, you’ll only lose 1 stack instead of 3).
  • Heralds of Malphas now guaranteed a Legendary item drop starting at Level 26, with a 15% chance to drop a second Legendary item.
  • Knockback has been removed from all Obelisk Hazards.
  • Chests will now appear after completing a Vault’s ending encounter. These new chests will drop a guaranteed Legendary item starting from level 26+, with a 35% chance to drop another Legendary item.
  • The projectile speed from Elemental Dart hazards has been reduced by 20%.
  • The hitbox for floor-based Elemental Grate and Spike hazards have been reduced by roughly 15%.
  • The spout hitbox for Elemental Pillars has been reduced by roughly 15%.

I just cut an paste the section, the rewards changing is fine I guess, but the rest is nerfing how it plays.

I know imo it sucks. I really hope that Blizz comes back with some actual challenge with the gauntlets. I also hope they buff the end game and world bosses.

The game should have some challenge.

Agreed.

Sadly Blizzard only know how to dumb things down, and make games easier and easier over time.

The challenge is to get on the top of the leaderboards.

The content itself might be easy, like 100m sprint.

Innovate?

Vaults are a merge between Labyrinth and Sanctum from PoE, and even there both were poorly received

And the reason is because traps dont belong to ARPGs, the genre is not about avoiding traps, leave that to platformers, puzzle games and such

Traps were the worse decision possible

I disagree. Traps were fine. I encourage Blizz to continue to try new things in Diablo.

WB’s are no longer capped at 75 or 77, they are lvl100 now. At least the last one I fought on Eternal was, so I assume it is same on seasonal.

I love stuff like this but many do not. It should always be optional. When you force people to do stuff they push back.

If you want challenge, you should do PvP.

Are you forced to do the vaults? I thought you could ignore them completely other than for the quest line and a few nodes in the season journey

well, you need the robot upgrades. after the patch its great. before, it was kinda blah

But not challenging. I have 100 hobbies and don’t want to spend my whole free time in Diablo.

What now? Can ignore them or am I forced into it by the quest and season Journey?

I think you meant difficult or hard. Something could be challenging without being perceptibly difficult or hard.

The core of games is that they offer a problem to solve. The fun lies in overcoming this challenge by solving the problem, that’s when players feel rewarded.

But to be honest, something could just be an endless dopamine/anxiety simulator, for example gambling.

It is optional.

Before, we do Vampire harvest and NM dungeons separately on Season 2.

Now,we do Construct harvest and NM dungeons with an option. Do it separately like on Season 2. Or do it at the same time using Vault NM dungeons.

The Vault NM dungeons maybe slower to accomplish but it gives 4 chests instead of 1.

Honestly, i like the Vault NM dungeons. I love harder content and it’s one notch harder than regular NM dungeon. Of course, some weak players are already having a hard time on just regular NM dungeons. Putting traps on it is too overwhelming for them. But they can do this separately… just do non NM vault and regular NM dungeons separately.

its optional as you dont need a robot buddy to kill Duriel or do NM100s
BUT
this is a seasonal game and people want to play new stuff
SO
if you make the new stuff like eating your vegetables, ppl will complain

It doesnt belong to weak players. They whine becoz it is indeed harder. Vault NM dungeons are slower to accomplish but gives 4x chests instead of 1x… i dont know the max number but that’s how much i got from my last 3x Vault NM dungeons run.
