Total BS to drop millions of gold buying an item you want… and then bricking it when you roll 7x Overpower damage.
This is not fun gameplay, devs.
Put in a way to reset tempers. I don’t care what it is.

Don’t buy your items, lol.
this. don’t buy your items. play 4 weeks to get your first good drop, destroy it and grind another 4 weeks for the next good drop.
This is the way. Grind like hell! Than fail. Rinse and repeat.
I haven’t traded anything in two seasons. Maybe that’s why I don’t get all butt hurt when I brick an item.
Your answer is correct but the work was wrong.
Lol jk to each their own, but that’s why I won’t buy items. I would be mad enough getting a really good 2GA or god forbid 3GA and bricking it but to have paid for it on top of that? No thanks.
About the only way to assure the stats you want, especially if they’re GA stats.
They simply don’t drop enough. Hell, I haven’t found a non-GA Source with the stats I want.
I have seen… 2 GA3 items so far. And I’m spamming T7 Hordes.
I believe we are like 19% of the way into the season.
Bricking SUCKS. But buying gear is lazy and impatient.
Problem is, self-found gear will NEVER be close to ppl who buy gold and trade. And those people with three+ GA mythics and everything masterworked perfectly come on the forums and disparage people who are struggling to even handle the content that is actually rewarding (I can’t yet solo t7s, and even in a decent group t7 takes FOREVER to kill the Council boss, and people only want to group up for t7s. Chicken and the egg problem).
Aside from 3 days of vacation, I’ve played for at least a few hours of every day of this season, and I still haven’t found a 2h staff for my sorc with a useful GA and non-crappy other stats. I’m gambling for staff with obols and opening heavy weaponry chests in helltides in addition to always opening the 60 aether chest in inferno. I’m also still struggling with weak rolls on important stats for my non-GA Tal’rasha ring, Winterglass amulet, and Tibault’s.
This season ain’t that long. People who aren’t lucky, don’t have a group of good players to consistently party up with, and who don’t really engage in trading (which is entirely dependent on a 3rd party website, gg Blizz) are going to find that the season is over before they had a fair chance to maximize their character… let alone build alts!
If everyone insists that these short seasons are “part of Diablo/arpgs” then the loot hunt needs recalibrating. Or just give us a solo self-found mode with increased drops of GA items. Ppl who wanna illegally buy gold and just swipe a card to build their characters can opt out.
There should be some epic quest stuff you can trigger to do some cool stuff like this. Make it a bit of a time investment and a relative challenge, but not like pit 100/tier 6 horde super pumped hp boss bs with hot lava over 90% of the playable area.
Devs: That’s how the Tempering system works, we’ll keep it forever…
They won’t change it no matter how many posts complain about it…
Your own fault for buying an item. Instead of farming for it like your supposed to in a loot farming game.
Devs arnt to blame your you being broke
devs would sooner see the game die than remove the most hated feature they ever added.
I didn’t say I was broke.
I said it felt bad to spend a lot of gold on an item which then becomes absolutely useless when you roll the wrong Temper 7 times in a row.
Making money isn’t that difficult when you can carry Torment bosses and solo T7 Hordes.
Did you ever play D3 after they added Primals?
The drop rate for Primals was rare enough - I believe the original drop rate was something like 1 in 570 - that you were unlikely to ever see your build defining items as Primal. Out of all the time I spent playing D3, I can remember only 1 instance where a Primal weapon dropped for the build I was actually using. Plus, Primals were better in at least one aspect - you didn’t lose the perfect roll on the stat if you rerolled it.
Don’t know if they’ve ever released a number for 2-3 GA items, but I’m betting it’s in that ballpark.
Now if you factor in specific Uniques… the odds of you ever getting a usable one with more than 1 GA and a decent roll on the other stats and/or Unique power is pretty astronomical.
The point is, you’re pretty much forced into buying items if you want to get 2-3 GA items with the stats you want. And having those items be useless because of some silly idea of stacking RNG systems on top of RNG systems on top of RNG systems is asinine. Didn’t like it in D3, don’t like it now.
While we’re incidentally mentioning it I hate weighted RNG systems, which is what the current reroll system is. If you don’t have Intelligence and/or Maximum Life on your item, and you reroll it, you’re almost guaranteed to see Intelligence and/or Maximum Life every single time you reroll the item. It’s a very bad system. As an example, I blew through 200 million gold just trying to reroll a Focus to hit Cooldown Reduction with the other stats being Maximum Life and Critical Hit Chance. Never saw Cooldown Reduction once. Overall, I’ve probably spent about 400m rerolling Foci to get both CHC and CDR.
If it weren’t for the fact that I can see Foci on Diablo Trade that rolled with both stats, I would swear blind that it was impossible.
Then don’t trade.
It’s pretty strange that people wanna risk it.
I don’t, really.
I only buy reasonably priced items, and there is no way in hell I’m ever buying 3 GA items. Billions of gold only to brick it? No thank you.
There is something to be said for buying GA uniques - because you can’t brick them - but those are expensive as F***.
LOL
That’s the joke of the day if I’ve seen one. Yeah lemme just begin to understand what items to trade and keep a mental checklist of them and their approximate value so i can buy an item I actually want, let me just go be lazy like that.
Exactly
Temper doesn’t need a reset.
A way to keep the affix you get it you want to risk and try for a better roll sure. But reset. No thanks
I got a 2 GA two-Handed mace with str/Crit dmg and thr exact same on a One handed sword.
BiS items can drop if you are lucky.
Having a way to reset tempers on a bricked item is not a bad idea. But it should be using something that is harder to obtain (another mat sure), not quite as hard as sparks but not easily available or it should cost a lot of gold.
And resetting a bricked item should be a limited count also, you should not be able to reset it indefinitely. Maybe even just once.
