Why is it that every way you look at it the best necromancer weapons are the 2H sword or the wand… I mean come on it’s the necromancer the BIS weapon should be the scythe I think they really dropped the ball with this one!

It is kind of funny tbf. I still remember when I got my first legendary scythe… only to salvage it since I needed the crit dmg from a 2h sword.
EXACTLY!! I’ve always been a necro in any game that has it and I mean come on… a 2H sword… I was sad to see this… At least just make weapon skins for all weapons not each specific type so I can skin a sword to look like a scythe!

It’s almost like we had this functionality in a previous Diablo game and they just scrapped it… huh

Why should that be?
Because Necros are the only class using them?
Should there even be an all purpose best in slot item at all?
Necromancer is not the Reaper …
And scythes are the worst tool you could use as a weapon, if not for fantasy reasons.
The crit damage bonus from Swords is very very small, look at your total crit damage bonus and compare it to the one from your sword.
Wands are BiS for Infinimist and Blood Lance since the former needs Lucky Hit Chance and the latter needs attack speed.
2H Scythes could be BiS for Bone Spear nuke build (for Uber Lilith etc.) since it deals the highest damage, higher than 2H Swords. To be fair, the weapon choice doesn’t matter anyway since you deal so much damage with Bone Spear.
1H Scythes could be BiS for Bone Spear + Lidless Wall build since the bonus life on kill is arguably better than the other bonuses for “run and gun”. You want to always move and kill enemies with this particular build so that your Bone Storms don’t die off.
BTW, good thing that Necro can use 2H Swords since that means that they can wield The Grandfather. It would be so cool.
Because life on kill is very very pointless.
i used 2H scythe for life on kill. When crit dmg is 300+%, i don’t mind skipping 20+% for 200hp per kill.
edit: also it doesn’t feel like 2H scythe performs significantly worse than 2H sword.
