How am I able to rebind the basic melee attack from the beginning of the game? My current weapon does more damage than my basic attacks. Are my weapons just stat sticks, or am I able to use them?
Does anyone have the answer for this? I have the same bug, is there a fix for it?

This is my issue as well and it’s very annoying. I even ran a new character. Even if you think I should take the first skill I select I should be allowed to switch my basic attack back. At the least the game shouldn’t autofill something I can’t get back. That’s silly.
Unfortunately I believe this is not a bug but how the game is intended to work… the first weapon skill is just a placeholder that gets removed as soon as you learn your basic skill. I agree it is extra sad, but seems like the necromancer is a caster-only class and whatever weapon he equips will just act as a catalyst.

I dont understand why the weapons have attacks-per-second and weapon-dmg then, seems pointless
Aps matters on casted skills. Weapon Damage is the initial modifier for almost every attack skill in the game. Actually, weapon dmg and aps are probably the most significant stats in the whole game for attack power.
And the actual magic attack is far less than the weapon attack. Atleast for me anyways
