Seal of Vizjerei is rolling + Max Mana & + Max Essence
Did it drop like that, or did it start with +max mana, and then you rolled +max essence on it?
They should be mutually exclusive, but it might explain how it happened.

Strange indeed.
My guess is that since it is a Unique item, and it belonged to a Mage (as per the flavor text) it will always roll with +max mana regardless of the class it drops for.
It is probably not actually a bug but more of a Story thing.
