I think they should really make most of the build-anchoring legendaries part of the codex and have the non-codex legendaries either anchoring odd/challenging builds or supplementing lots of builds but not defining one.
Hmm dunno but I get the definite feeling they want people chasing legendaries especially at end game as it will tie into their season system and forcing peeps to restart stuff from scratch on new seasons.
Will have to see how it goes I guess since its still very early days.
For the low level legendaries I mean how many games have you played that people don’t give two sheets about them cause you blow right by their level usefulness so quickly which I kind of feel will be the case here?
Yeah no doubt. I just think the main builds people are going to think of when they look at the skill trees shouldn’t require them to farm drop-only aspects.
That’s the nice thing about aspects: the drops are better than the codex and you can imprint them on a way better rare (once), so they get to last for way more levels.
Also I think monster scaling helps with this because you can’t just way out level your gear or you start to suck.
What a moronic thing to say. Balance should be a destination you reach before you release your game, otherwise you’re releasing an incomplete unbalanced mess. With an attitude like this, I doubt the game will ever be balanced, I remember when companies couldn’t rely on people always having internet access and they delivered finished, balanced games but now with the constant internet access developers are releasing unbalanced unfinished games promising patches to fix them later.
Necro fans rejoice you can guarantee necro is the best class in the game when the product manager of diablo 4 mains one.
It will get fixed
I agree that the skellies need some tweaking.
Not to back where they were, but right now they are a little to brittle.
PSA - We’re in the process of rolling out a server side hotfix buff to Necro skellies. It will take a while to propagate worldwide so we appreciate your patience while it’s happening. #DiabloIV

i wish we had been able to reach lvl 25 this time, to see how the changes affected the bone golem. i used that as my only minion in the last test, and it didnt seem OP or anything. there isnt a reliable way to heal it, unless you take the orb passives. bone golem , anyway.
hopefully they are on top of testing that stuff, internally.
sounds like he made that statement on his 200,000$ yacht somewhere in france
Blizzard destroyed the iconic class.
Sure, you can make necro without sketties, but sktties should be the the main way to play…as Necromancer!!!
Now you have to babysit them in combat , they are useless against bosses, & you have to invest too points into corpse gain/sketties suvival, so it will NOT be worth the effort unless your main source of damage is minions.
Whats the point of book of dead. Just sacifice all minions
What a sitshow. You were doing right in close beta!!!
The dev teams seem to be made out of people not understanding how minions work, & why people play minions builds.
In D2 if you would start as a Summon Nec the Skellis were actually quite balanced. Not too strong and not too weak. They could clear all content however not as fast as other builds which is fine imo. D4 iteration of Summon Nec and how easily they died in Server slam felt really bad honestly.
Miss Cheetah said that Blizzards way of testing is skewing it very far one way and then the other is the lazy way to test balance. Anyone who actually played the class knew that something feels wrong…
Why the click bait title? That is not at all what it says. He is saying things take time and tweaking. You have 1500 posts, why make a click bait title? This isnt reddit.
OK fair, changed it. That’s how the tweet initially struck me.
The Necro play through in the Open Beta, it was obvious that the Skeletons were just a tad too strong so I was expecting a nerf of some type. Right now, I think they are trying to find the balance required to make summoning feel strong, but not overpowered like it was during the open beta. This weekend that nerf bat was more like a sledgehammer, way over the top, and they are realizing that as well.
Meanwhile, I’ve decided to work out a Sacrificed Minion Build for skeletons while eventually using just my golem. In the end though it should feel better I think if you have to use things like Decrypify like in D2 to help minion survivability by making enemies weaker.
My feedback:
- We need to control the Skeletons somehow
- We need Perma Skeletons: Starting with zero Skeletons and no corpse takes forever to build the Army

It’s a necromancer. They’ve always been about summons. Sorc might be better for you.
You think a skeleton should be able to hold up to a world boss? Really?
Whos talking about the world boss? I meant ANY boss…
Wise words indeed.
