Iām 100% sure that limited-time event was not intended as āthe sourceā. Youāre not suggesting it was - but I think it should be pointed out: they donāt plan like that. 
Also, in principle, itās reasonable for someone to start their season whenever. To even buy the game whenever, and join in. The ability to grind core mats should be designed around ābegin wheneverā - provided thereās enough time left in the season.
Just steering the onus back where it belongs: dev competence.

I wish that foo gave experience. I have 150 summons and counting.
Speaking as someone who plays this game far too often to be healthy or wise Iād be far happier if I had a way to sell unwanted orbs of obsufication to a handy gold offering vendor.
So far I have avoided the 1k cap of doom by sanctifying any stupid thing I find just to see WTF happens and then selling unwanted results to vendor that way.
So far I manage to keep orbs of obsufication down to around 920 to 940k
The room says get out there and farm it.

This would work well if we could store more than 24 of his corrupted eyes. As it is, I feel like Iām āwastingā his summons mats if Iām capped on his corruptedā¦. and clearing his corrupted is painfully slow given Az fight length (should be cut to 1/2 to 1/3 of current duration).
Oh, didnāt even know that lesser evil materials were capped sĆ³ low. I guess I should start using them up.

Prob. Drops from B are better then any other boss in the 
. Blizz prob trying to tackle RMT with B mats since so many ppl complained about it.
I myself only go there to get azmodon chest mats. I have 100s of summons Iāll prob never use because he doesnāt give XP and Iām grinding to 300.
i am almost capped on every single resource while i have 14 neathiron gained 0-10 per goblin nmd, a sigil that is rare as well. they also drop 0-4 off belial but husks are super rare too. they are a huge road block: they need to improve drop rates for them stat.
