It appears some side quests tracking might be bugged and there are some big inconsistencies as to how many there are… I’ve manually kept track of each side quest I’ve completed on a spreadsheet and have 45 of them, including the 5 “Tenets of Depravity” side quests and the 3 “Akarat’s Following” side quests (Following Faith, Overcoming Suffering, Two Endings). These 8 are NOT counted as side quests nor do they contribute to the 35/35 total.
To make things very confusing, I have tracked 37 side quests (45 minus the 8 “quests” mentioned above that don’t count) but will admit there can be errors in my tracking, however, the in-game map says there are 35 side quests but there’s also an achievement to “complete all side quests in Nahantu,” yet that achievement only goes up to 20… I am at 18/20 for that achievement and at 32/35, when viewing the map/renown, with no further side quests to seemingly find.
EDIT: I have managed to hunt down the last 2 side quests I was missing. They were Bloom Where you are Planted and Cat-Eye Curse. That got me to 20/20 for the achievement but I am now at 34/35 on the map view.
EDIT 2: All side quests have been found. The last remaining one I needed was Tenets of Depravity: Light be With you. This side quest is actually in Kyovashad, on the left/west side of town. I am at 35/35 now.

Same here. Im at 17/20 and 31/35 Sidequests and even the campagne kill from Urivar didnt count…

I, too, have the same issue. I have activated ALL 30 Tenets of Akarat but it is only counting 29/30 in my Renown. I believe it’s the Tenet of Akarat #6 Resting Void in the Seven Stones region. I activated this Tenet last night, along with the 5 tenets in The Five Hills area in Nahantu but this morning before I started to do the rest of them, it still said I’ve only activated 5 tenets.
The second bug I’ve encountered is that the game is not counting all of my completed Side Quests accurately. This morning, before I started to search for all the Tenets of Akarat, it says in my Renown that I have completed 32/35 Side Quests. When I found the Tenet of Akarat #27 “Pestilence” - located North East of the Gates of Necropolis - I noticed a Shrine to its left. I saw the little blue exclamation point on it and I clicked on the Shrine. There is a small chair to the right of the Shrine and as soon as I sat on it a timer started. I was supposed to sit on that chair for the entire length of that timer while I was being attacked. I survived and completed the task and that banner that shows up on the left side of my screen whenever I’ve completed a quest popped up but I was not able to read what it said, but I knew it was a Side Quest I had just completed inadvertently, like quite a few others in this game. However, my Side Quest count is STILL 32/35.
Please fix these bugs. Thank you.
Oh and btw, I noticed this yesterday but I’ve seen TWO World Bosses pop up on my World Map but only ONE timer. I did not join in the fight coz I was busy doing other things so I didn’t know which World Boss location was the correct one.
If this is a bug please fix. Thank you.

Hey, I noticed the sides quests that don’t seem to contribute to the side quest counter are kind of separate/hidden side quests part of a “Akarat’s Teachings” or something. So even though they have the blue exclamation point, it’s best not to think of them as actual side quests. There does appear to be some hidden achievement once you’ve completed all of them. I believe there are 3 of them named Overcoming Suffering, Two Endings, and Following Faith.
Also, I think I may have found the last remaining side quests. I just found one of them now, so will report back in a bit.

Thanks a bunch! I just did that side quest and now have 33/35 completed. The completist in me is VERY happy that I’m closer to getting all of them done!

Looks like someone else figured out another quest you might be missing but I can’t post the link for some reason… I am now at 34/35 and I think the last remaining quest might have bugged. Do you know off the top of your head whether you completed the questline called “Everything Old,” where the NPC character Dian has been killed over and over again, and you go after this “deceiver” demon to stop him from repeatedly killing Dian in a sort of time loop? I completed that but didn’t get the achievement “Coiling Fate” which says “complete the Everything Old questline in Nahantu.” I definitely finished that as I did those 3 quests (last quest is named New Again) and received the item reward etc. but didn’t get credit for the achievement. So, I wonder if that last quest bugged and the game didn’t think I completed it

I have completed that quest. I wished we had a Quest Log of all completed quests. It would certainly be a very helpful QoL improvement.
Hmmm, it says on my achievements list that there are several items I have NOT completed when, in fact, I’ve already completed them…this is very frustrating.

I have completed all quests in the DLC. Some are bugged and did not count towards progression. In achievements, I have 18/20, and on the map, I have 31/35. I would love to get that done and off my mind because I’m a completionist. I need 100%. Additionally, it would be nice to know which quests you have completed. I really wished there was a quest log in the game, or at least some sort of information about the quests you have completed or are still missing.

Same here.
- 20/20 in the achievement,
- 34/35 in the Renown tracker,
- Fatal Harvest and Coiling Fate achievements not awarded (even though I completed these quests)
Completed all side quests (marked off every single one in Nahantu with a completionist checklist on mapgenie (they list 37 side quests in Nahantu, but that does not include re-runs on Everything Old) including Bloom where you are Planted.
Edit: I just found that “Appeal of Faith” has a follow-up quests from the same NPC called “Deafened Mourning”, “Final Rite” and “By Their Fruits” , though it did not show on map initially, but the marker popped up randomly after exiting the zone and teleporting back to the waypoint. Finishing By Their Fruits awarded the achievement Fatal Harvest.
Edit 2: In “Putrescent Larder” dungeon there is a dead body that drops an item to start quest “The Cat-Eye Curse”. After finishing this quest I popped the achievement for completing all side quests in Nahantu. Still missing “Coiling Fate” for Everything Old questline.
Really annoying that they still have issues with quest/achievements triggers in D4, with the above on top of not getting some campaign achievements when I finished it.

Coiling Fate achievement is also not done for me, I am sitting at 33/35 and wondering if the two I am missing would be Everything Old, and the follow up New Again… i got the hidden ones, Bloom where you are Planted and The Cat-Eye Curse, i went back to make sure that Dian was not there, and he is not for the Everything Old quest. I have roamed the region for FAR too long, I am really trying to get this renown 100% on my main, but at what point do i pull the plug and finally just start my Season Journey. This is very upsetting and wishing Blizz would do something about not being able to track the side quest.

After finishing By Their Fruits, I got the achievement for Appeal of Faith completion. However the blue exclamation point went back to the chest where you get the quest. The completion didn’t count for my renown. I’m not sure if this is a separate issue, or if it’s one of the reasons people aren’t getting all 35 quests.

By Their Fruits is definitely one of the quests not counted in the 35 but that’s what I was missing from actually finishing Fatal Harvest + Nahantu Folk Hero so thanks for that.
Coiling Fate I am not sure if there is still some hidden follow-up or if its actually bugged.

The achievement tracking for Nahantu quests in general is super bugged. I have completed the campaign, every single side quest, including those that don’t count towards the 35. I have 100% completion for the renown, but a whole bunch of the achievements aren’t unlocked:
- Fatal Harvest (Appeal of Faith)
- Coiling Fate (Everything Old)
- Nahantu Folk Hero (19/20)
- Halted Hatred (Catharsis, campaign)
- Spirit Heart (Ah Bulan, campaign)
- A Crusade in Flames (Urivar, campaign)
- Hatred’s Nemesis (Harbinger of Hatred, campaign)

I been having difficulties as well.
I have 30/35 in the new area. The achievements say i have 2 questlines not completed. And another that says ive completed them all.
Also in caldeum i have 1 short because it refuses to spawn.
There needs to be a tracker for what quests have been completed. So we can report which quests are not spawning or being recorded.
I have a couple that still showed after i activated them and finished them.

Yeah I’m currently at 34/35. I was positive I did them all… and upon looking I was also missing Light Be With You. Upon completing it, I am still at 34/35.
I also have the missing achievement Coiling Fate for the Everything Old questline… But I have certainly completed it.
I double checked everything I could find to make sure I got all side quests completed and I have.
Furthermore, Two Endings (interact with the pillar, do the gravestone quest) is one I have completed, yet anytime I go near it, I get the blue exclamation point on the map.
Very frustrating and I hope they fix this real soon.

So the patch retroactively fixed all the campaign achievements, which is very nice. Thanks for that Blizzard.
To sum up what others have mentioned and all I currently know about the side quests and achievements:
- there are at least 40-45 side quests total
- most of them don’t count towards Nahantu Folk Hero
- some of them don’t count towards renown completion
- some of them don’t count towards either, or maybe there are more than 35 that count for renown (can’t tell for sure since i already had 35 when doing them)
- to make matters worse, this possibly isn’t even consistent and just not working correctly or the same way for everyone
Here are some that are easily missed:
- “Tenets of Depravity: Light be With You” (found in Kyovashad after completing the quest chain in Nahantu)
- “The Cat-Eye Curse” (can be obtained by looting a dead body in the Putrescent Larder dungeon)
- “Bloom Where You Are Planted” (acquired in Samuk, but you first need to find/talk to Umija in her house, located south-southeast of Samuk, on the southwestern edge of the map in the Five Hills zone)
- multiple follow-up quests of the “Appeal of Faith” chain in the small settlement just south of the Ichorfall waypoint. I had to leave the zone and come back three (!) times to get the next one to show up. The last one (no, “Final Rite” is not the last one, which fooled me) is called “By Their Fruits”, doesn’t actually start in that settlement but a ways northwest of it, there is a dead body with a chest, you loot a tome and bring it back down there. This last one will give you the Fatal Harvest achievement and it actually counts towards Nahantu Folk Hero.
With all this I’m 35/35 for renown and the only achievement that is not unlocking for me and I assume is actually bugged (as nobody seems to find any more quests for it or has gotten it) is Coiling Fate (Everything Old chain). Please fix!
Once again, Blizzard, please just give us an actual journal. It doesn’t have to be fancy, but for the love of Akarat we need a list of completed quests. If you don’t use a third party map tool or something before you start a completion run, or heavens forbid you forget ticking one off (or forget what it was called, since they just disappear and aren’t even shown in chat!!), good luck trying to ever figure out which ones you are missing. Especially with all the “lootable” quests in Estuar.

I really appreciate your input here, including information and easily missed quests that may or may not count towards the tally or renown or whatever…
Unfortunately it is just very bugged, and having an in-game tracker would certainly help.
I hope they fix it really soon because being stuck on 34/35 really sucks especially when you were so certain you had it, but double and triple checked multiple posts, videos, and guides to make sure (including using something like Map Genie as you go) only to find you’ve definitely completed them all but it’s just not tracking for whatever reason.
Even more frustrating that it seems to be happening to a lot of people, but not everyone.
(You are one of the few that give some real good details about those easy to miss ones, so I appreciate that even more.)
