Did uber boss in group, as i was porting out to sell stuff, noticed the purple aura. Didnt panic, went and sold stuff, came back it was gone. Checked my excess bin, filled 10/10, but no mythic. I ASSUME no legendaries or uniques i left on the ground before porting out despawned.
So it was not accidentally sold or salvaged as i didnt pick it up. Can a dev please confirm if i actually saw it or am i tripping balls? If it wasnt a GA, then it was just gonna be salvaged, but now im not even sure. Thank you
That sucks. I donāt know if there is anything you can do but maybe put in a ticket.
Good luck.

Items despawn if its too many on the ground when the player isng there. Always pick up important loot first or find a group does 1 salvage per summon. Its honestly not slower.

guess you should have picked it up. its gone now and no one at blizz is going to look in to it for you
Yeah, oh well. Sucks to suck i guess
stash is bugged , if you have a full stash and go out do something leave those items are gone forever, you can test this very easily and see its a massive issue this is why people do 1 run sell another run sell, as doing runs back to back you are definitly loosing items.
will they fix it rob mentioned it to them in his interview and they didnt even understand what he ment so it proberly wont get fixed , i personally hate that it auto maticly goes to stash and really hate there is a 0/10 limit remove the limit and let us see all items over 10 and problem will be fixed

Its not slower or simply pick up mythics & GA items. People watch and copy cat streamer playstyles but dont realise streamers or hard grinders have so much resources they dw about vendoring items on the ground (my self included) or only focuses on purple beams.

I have a similar experience, was doing tormented grigore, stuff keep piling up as we decided to sell later, after the 4th round, we all went back to salvage, when we come back 2 load of loots went missing/vanish. not even in the stash. Happen to all 4 of us.
i learned the hard way s1, never have your overfill 10/10.
As a fun joke (if you are the blue/purple dot player) - when the tormented boss dies, run by the loot drops and someone will think they got a āpurple beamā the color of your dot matches the color of the loot. The loot shows on your mini map before it actually shows on the ground, so if someone is scouting the drops - they will get excited seeing a āpurple/blueā in the pile of orange/yellow stars

I guess lesson learn. Never port out with drop you want to collect.
Also there is limit how much items can be on floor. After lots of uber runs. They just stop dropping.

I will never understand peoples logic with leaving that kind of loot on the ground. Stop doing that lol.

I had the same thing happen in a much less severe way. I was grinding hellfire and saw a Unique drop mark on the map, but as I was fighting, I inadvertently clicked on a cellar entrance and went in. It cause all of the Hellfire drops about the hold limit to poof.
Very annoying system. I am sure you saw it, and it disappeared.
I noticed it as my teleport completed, didnt really worry much on it because i dont āneedā it and have had mythics pop up in excess stash before. Also, it was a fresh kill, so not used to seeing crap pour into the excess tab.
But its still weird that the game decided āthese 10 are going to your excess stash, and im gonna make arbitrary decisions on which loot to just deleteā, and thats where my issue is. In places like helltides, it makes sense: you are in proximity of a kill, loot drops, you dont go over there, goes to excess.
In my case, why even move anything to my excess tab? No one in group dropped, so the instance wasnt messed with at all. If thats the case, id rather blizzard just leave my crap alone and not touch it
Yet again, another problem solved by a loot filter.
The thing the dev team assured you that you do not need.
Iād love for them to be more honest like Joe when he said āwe canāt add more stash space because our code is too poorly designed.ā
Weāll never get that kind of honesty again.
Just say you canāt design a working loot filter.

Logically yeah, it should all goto the exess tab, but this is blizzard weāre talking about. I mean for Fās sake, instead of just fixing tempering, instead we get a scroll that resets tempers.
Itās like starting a fire, then putting it out with a hammer.

So it was 100% your fault. Lesson learned.
They are completely incompetent.
Sorry for your loss!
Itās the way item hierarchy works.
Itās how they chose to program what stays and what goes when the time comes for a clean-up and X objects in Y zone are exceeding Z thresholds.
I classify them in 2 categories for simplicity - Identified and Unidentified.
Unidentified items have generic labels and have not been touched by the player: Ring, Amulet etc.
Identified are items weāve picked up: Item⦠of Branching Volleys, Item⦠of Creeping Death.
They acquire a full Label at that point.
If thereās a very large number of items in a given area and the game is going to āmake roomā(delete/remove) - the first items to go are the āUnidentifiedā ones.
Random experiments Iāve performed over many Seasons - especially since Season 2 and āBlood Tidesā where we had the summoning Event and I noticed items POOFING after multiple rotations and mass items on the ground.
This was the first type of such a āLoot-splosionā style of Event in this game.
Moral of the Story:
- NEVER leave high-value Items UNIDENTIFIED even if you plan on remaining in the area and continuing Rotations.
- Your dropped (Identified) items are 99.9% safer vs deletion than unidentified items. ie. If you must leave something - at least pick it up and drop it first.
- IF doing multiple Uber Bosses
a. Drop Garbage in HALLWAY outside of the summoning Arena(encourage everyone to do the same) - aside from this keeping the area somewhat āsafeā for drops(to a point) - it also greatly prevents Item LABEL MADNESS where one cannot even loot fresh drops because the sheer qty of Labels.
b. ALWAYS pick up *, ** and *** items and hold onto them unless, at a glance, theyāre also Garbage - drop them in hallway.
c. When porting to sell/salvage: be sure ALL high-value items have been looted.
d. Again: Never, ever Port from an Zone with ANY high-value or potentially high value items on the ground EVEN IF itās a low % chance of deletion.
āItās always better to drop a few random items youād probably salvage anyway than lose whatās possibly decent and uncheckedā
Some experiments and results from a curious player who gets bored sometimes:
Identified items can persist for many many hours. The longest I recorded was some Aspects I had dropped in various cities - those lasted 8 hours. Iāve had Aspects and Rares Iāve dropped persist for over 3 hours in random wilderness locations - and persist through repeated Helltide rotations.
NMD Sigils at ToW for over 4 hours.
Random Legendary items for 5-6 hours in all manner of locations(cities, towns, wilderness).
(Edit: the Times are merely āuntil I stopped checking or forgot about them or logged out/dcādā - for all I know they couldāve lasted 12-24 + hours. Logging/Dropping or Partying can reset everything).
p.s. Along with this system - now try to leave party while you have a ton of loot to sort though.
Thereās a way to maintain the āZoneā and your items but itās incredibly hoop-jumpy convoluted and frankly silly.

Your reply has true beta energy. I didnt say it wasnt my fault, i just wanted to know what happened to it because i was not aware of anything despawning across 4 seasons. But, what kind of coding is that to despawn a mythic? I have left mythics on the ground before and not had it despawn, so there is no reason for the game to say, āyes, delete this one specific itemā.
If thats the case where their systems make arbitrary decisions on what loot to auto-destroy based on Jupiters proximity to Uranus on a cloudy night in August, then i would rather just not have it help me. Remove my excess tab, let me fend for myself.

One would think the 1st step would be: Attempt to Mail item
A rational person from a Players pov contemplating design would set āPrioritiesā on various items types.
ie. a Flagging system
White & Blues - minimal priority
Yellows - Medium(or as they are now: Standard)
Legendary - High
Greater Affixes - Very High(possible on a scale of 1* 2** 3*** in ascending priority)
Mythic Uniques - Extreme - including GA versions all sharing Extreme Priority.
With this Item Pirority Flagging system in Place your scenario would not have happened.
- Assuming Mail was Empty: The game would prioritize Mailing items based on a Top to Bottom priority
- The game would have [DELETED] ALL normal Legendary Items to āmake roomā but left anything flagged as GA and certainly Mythic.
All items would have been vacuumed but your āUnidentifiedā high-end items would remain.
Deletion sidenote:
For over a YEAR I have watched our āSpecial Currencyā - OBOLS - be treated like trash.
If I realize Iām capped - what else to do but pop out, spam-ble at the Curiousity Vendor and port back.
All of what? 30 seconds even in the old days where that Vendor was in the nether reaches of Cities(knowing which City to go to was key).
Upon returning: the 60-80 Obols that were there in 2-3 piles(or even 1) are now 13, 5, 8 IF theyāre even there at all.
Always wondered why a āLegendaryā(which is technically what it is) special currency would be so flagrantly slated for deletion by design(likely oversight but thereās been countless reports).
