Mythic changes and Eternal players; 2 sparks = RANDOM mythic in 2.0, runes needed for specific

Direct from patch notes:

  • Previous: Crafting a specific Mythic Unique costs 4 Resplendent Sparks
  • Now: A random Mythic Unique can be crafted with 2 Resplendent Sparks
    • A specific Mythic Unique can be crafted with Resplendent Sparks plus a set of Runes unique to each item.

So not only are our (Eternal) Mythics being reduced to legacy but we won’t be able to craft new ones with out the DIABLO gamble wheel…with NO mention of how these “special” runes are obtained.

First, how do you “craft” a random object?!..lol…

Second, I like the reduction to 2 sparks needed but can foresee “bricking” 20 sparks to get the mythic your build needs unless you have the ruins…

Third, Do the runes get destroyed during “crafting” or once found they are permanent?

Fourth, why so limited info on these “Special Runes”?

Any of you have fifth, sixth…etc. questions?

At the blacksmith, he just goes full hog on a piece of ore and bam, you got a random item.

Best part though you get half your sparks back when destroyed. Not a great consolation prize but at least it’s something.

Yes the runes are ‘used’ just like your sparks are ‘used’.

It’s referring to all the runes you would normally find. More then likely it’s the legendary versions you need to make the Mythics.

I get the feeling it will be a set of specific runes + 2 sparks, so for example Harlequin might be 2 Sparks + Ahu + Jah (Runeword AhuJah). So 2 sparks, 1 Ritual and 1 Invocation Rune. That’s my best guess, it may take more then just those 2 runes though, we’ll find out soon enough.

However given that recipe, you could easily see how it would work with other recipes, so Ahu + Yom might make a Grandfather, or Ahu + Yom might make a Doombringer, or Bac + Jah might make Tyrael’s Might, there’s various combinations.

i guess most of us have our eternal stash full with 99999… ores and leather, and able to buy “allowance cache” from the blacksmith non stop to gamble for mythic.

  • Contains one legendary item of a random equipment slot, with a small chance to be Unique or Mythic Unique.

Need Vessal of Hatred in order to acquire Runes. So this is mainly a way for blizzard forcing players into buy the expansion. Otherwise pray to RNG.

First time hearing about this “allowance cache”…interesting…bet it’s .25% chance though for mythic…

That’s not too bad tho, if you use like 8 shards you have 4+2+1 tries to get the desired one, but yeah they should keep the current receipt (4x spark) and ADD these new ones.

Runes were absolutely done like this to get players to buy VoH. They know what they are doing. They know many players are going to whine and cry and such and then buy it. They know their audience well. Gaming Players as a whole have not been united enough in any way to force a company to bend to their will in regards to $$$. Doesnt make it not evil though. But they have embraced the dark side. Unlimited $$$ Power!

Supposedly Whisper Caches.
I have about 200 bounty bags stored. I will level to 60 on eternal, I will unlock T4, and open them all to see what happens. I am excited to pop them all.

I think if Eternal Characters are going to be obliterated and need completely rebuilt, the Seasonal buffs should apply to Eternal. However there is a massive population that hate Eternal, so they have decided that a realm that they do not even play, should be burnt to the ground. I am hoping my bounty bag experiment will offset the suckiness of starting over on EVERY character. Patch notes say Whisper Caches will be a source of runes.
Plus 2 sparks creating Random is at least a start. I have about 20 in my stash so I should be able to rebuild fairly fast.

They showed some of these recipes; it’s 10 of a specific magic rune, 10 of a specific rare rune, and 10 of a specific legendary rune (or at least, it was that on the PTR).

This is a discussion about Eternal. You claim to not like it, yet here you are creating Drama. Yet, somehow, I validated YOUR hurt feelings by answering a question. I can live with that, I do not care and find your sensitive outer layer sad. But sure, you got me! Rest easy Princess knowing that your hurt feeling are now validated! Your therapist will love to hear about your big break through LMAO.

But seriously, if these discussions are so hurtful you can simply go to threads that do not hurt you. I cannot relate to being so sensitive and easily hurt, so I hope I am not too triggering. Is there somewhere I can send a stuffed animal, or some Aloe to soothe the pain?
