My top 3 dumbest activities of the game

Just to be clear, I like the game and I am even still active in the season. But there are some activities I clearly find stupid. I do them, just like anyone, because they are part of the game but wouldn’t mind if they undergo some changes in the future.

1 – Spend 15 minutes smashing my mouse button to complete the Pit before the timer ends
2 – Re-roll 200 times an affix at the Occultist to get +skill on a pair of gloves or a passive on an amulet
3 – Do 100 boss runs to get 598 crappy Uniques

#1 is the worst especially when I get to the 70% chance of success for Glyph levelling and only get 1 or 2 out of 4 points. That’s when I stop levelling my Glyphs. Didn’t push them to the max I could for any of my builds

#2 just make me feel stupid for keeping re-rolling and re-rolling. At some point, I always feel I should stop but come on, did I do all that for nothing? Let’s just give it another try.

#3 will probably give me 1 or 2 Mythic which is always a feel-good moment even though I already have plenty. Blizzard decided to make Legendary Ancestrals hard to get this season and remove them from the Bosses loot tables but having only Uniques drop was not a good decision.

I like Pit runs more than I like Infernal Hordes, but they both put me to sleep=not fun at all.

Then that Pit level is too difficult. Lower it.

Either I keep trying to level my Glyphs or I stop when a run starts lasting more than 10 minutes. I gave a couple of tries to option 1 but quickly ended up with option 2.

It’s not difficult. There is no challenge at all. I don’t die. I just keep smashing my mouse button with each group of mobs I run into. Takes me a lot more time to kill an Elite in the Pit than Duriel or Andariel.

Yes, I felt dumb each time I tried to push into high tier Pit.

…but you can’t seem to do it???

The timer IS part of the challenge. You can’t just build a tank and complete. You need to build more offensively to meet the timer.

By building more offensively, do you mean running a SB?

I am playing all classes this season. The problem is exactly the same, even for my Sorc which is far from being tanky. I take SB out of the equation. My Ancestral Legendaries are average at best, hard to get good ones, but I have good Uniques and the best Mythics when it comes to damage. Not all my builds are fully capped in resistances and armour because I try to favour damage nodes in my Paragon Boards.

Exponentially increasing enemies HP is not adding challenge to a game activity. The only challenge we had in the Pit was the one-shots from the Shadow bosses and that was removed. The max 3 stack debuff is a joke. I don’t even care anymore for the Shadow bosses, except when using my sorc.

My No. 1 while i enjoyed the awesome mindblowing AAA content on may way up to level 300 long time ago:

  • waiting in front of the “pit-pillar” until somebody gets along and buff me before doing a pit run.

ohh nonononono i got a 2nd one gnihihihihi

  • playing rogue around other players and throwing totems on top of the loot so people using a joypad cant click on the loot until i stop the madness

I am taking an elixir from time to time, usually for an attack speed boost, but didn’t use a single incense this season. I noticed many times other players rushing close to me when I approach the Pit Obelisk. You could have been one of them but no luck with me.

  1. infernal hordes - spamming it to get masterworking mats
  2. masterworking - at blacksmith for way too long clicking away to come out w/ no gain n only loss
  3. loot - wasting time teleporting back n forth in between bosses just to salvage/sell garbo. new class unlocked garbageman. loot reborn revamp needed bcuz the way we loot is brain ded. makes me rlly appreciate the way loot is in MMOs so much better by far.

My tops

  1. Bringing 10,000$ worth of rawhide, iron chunks, veil crystals, forgotten souls, obducide only for the “mastercrafter” idiot to tell me after 2 min, “sorry, no results on hitting the affix you wanted mate, go farm the mats again”
  2. Playing alot and not getting results, meanwhile the RMTer, duper, traders are not playing but they are getting results … ( no ssf mode that many people want, no proper action house, just cringe)

There’s no functional difference between ssf mode and simply not trading.

Unless you mean a SFF server, which just isn’t likely to ever happen.

Inb4 “I have to do rep/statues/campaigns all over again… in SSF mode!!!11!!1!1!”

Seems to contradict your SSF mode and gripe about traders.

Not to mention 80% of the ancestral drops while playing your sorc are GA to thorns.

The other 3 stupidest things I did before logging in and playing. Hard to decide which were the top 3 stupidest. They are all on the top of the list.

Or GA to any element resistence…

Wish I could use 2 characters simultaneously. Would leave my Sorc at the entry of the Pit until my SB cleared everything and switch back to my Sorc to upgrade its Glyphs. Matter of fact, I would even take all my characters because I don’t like running the Pit.

I am playing all classes this season: Necromancer and SB in seasonal, Sorc, Barb, Druid, Rogue in Eternal. My Eternal Sorc is the build I am spending the more time with. I think it is kind of bada**. I am not trying to level my Glyphs to 100 or trying to get to Paragon 300. As Eternal player, I will get there with time anyway.
