My Solution to Tempering

I like the fact tempering mods are powerful and build defining and I like the fact there’s some RNG involved. But that RNG should be the difference between a good item and a great item, not vendor trash or a great item. So I propose they make the manuals just single mod, but then increase the range within that mod. This way your still rerolling to try and get a perfect roll, there’s a game of risk with if it’s worth trying again to get a higher roll but that risk doesn’t involve completely bricking the item.

This fixes 2 issues, 1. It means your not just straight bricking your item and 2. It means your more likely to retry for a better roll rather than just being thankful for w/e roll you got as long as it’s the mod you want.

I would like to have it where you can select the affex you want to add to an item and go for the random amount on that affex you want or have all tempered affexs set to a max and you get what you RNG into. I think the first would brick less items. I hate rolling the same affex I didn’t want 3 times in a row. I agree with OP on making single state tempering and make it larger scale for affex and cost more. Also add a unqiue tempering maunel for above legendary affex.
