My fps is cut in half ever since i got new CPU

i dont understand i was playing this game on a stable 80-100 fps on my 3070 ryzen 5 3600x i got my new CPU Ryzen 7 5800X3D and my fps was almost doubled i was playing on 120-160 fps at all times in any intensive areas 6 players on my screen all using abilities but then shortly after my fps just got cut in half im sitting now at 60-70 fps at all times in intensive areas i have reinstalled game few times cleaned cache shaders and nothing i still got same issue i dont understand why?

Could be any number of things. If you haven’t updated your drivers you could check that first, also make sure the settings on the graphics card itself (not in game) are correct, and weren’t altered in some odd way due to an update. Close all other programs while playing as well just to make sure it’s consistent fps drops.

Now go back in the game just to check your settings there. What’s the resolution, any cap on FPS, etc. just go down the list. Start to mess with settings and disabling or lowering graphics to see if anything increases your FPS beyond the 60-70. If not, you may have a bigger issue on your hands.

I’m running a 5700x3D/6800XT on a 4k monitor. Make sure your BIOS is up to date as well. I was having terrible frame rate drops and what fixed it for me was turning down the graphic settings from Ultra down one and I never had any issues since then.

Prob just need to run an optimization utility.

everything is up to date literally nothing changed i had doubled my fps with new cpu and a few hours later it got cut in half i didnt change anything about my pc

Can you monitor your temps? It’s weird that is was working fine then stopped. Any chance it is throttling itself because it’s getting too hot?

temps are normal my gpu usually is 80c at 100% gpu usage wich is normal and my cpu temps dont go over 75c

Found the culprit. Next time try the one that says “Core” on the box. This one easy trick solved 100% of my driver issues and other miscellaneous issues that seemed to have no fix.

Did you have RTS on before? I ask because they like to turn that on by default now with every patch, even if you specifically don’t want it on and set it to off before.

Could be a number of things. I upgraded my machine with a 5800X3D I also updated the BIOS, the Chipset drivers and the video drivers.

Seems to me there was an AMD issue a few years ago that cause slow performance - Chipset drivers were updated to fix issue.

After you replaced the CPU did you reset the BIOS to defaults? I’ve seen this many times when people just drop in newer CPU’s. The old settings may not work properly with the new CPU. Forgot, updating the BIOS on some motherboards does not reset the BIOS to default and you may still have settings issues.

Did you update to Windows 11 24H2 by chance?
