My Crew too Stronk

Everyone is always saying how bad minions are, so I decided to test mine, by getting them in a fight, and not helping. :joy: (ignore the part where I got frozen because I was not paying attention)
I do proc them a little with my basic attack, to get them going. Also finally hit all the nodes on Cult Leader and Hulking Monstrosity, still need to fill some out but the major ones have been selected.

Nice one =) Fun to watch !

I always wondered if minions actually use Basic attacks, hence, would benefit a lot from Basic Attack Speed, and Basic Attack Damage affixes =) Mostly curious !

I put the Aspect for attack speed every time they do damage on my 2H sword so 28% every time Minions do damage for 5 seconds up to 84%.
And the one for Skellie damage 36%[x] on gloves. (I have had this on 2 hander before early on, but I felt like the attack speed would be better doubled as it impacts all of them)

They did not do too badly as there are some elites in that fight.

That looks fun but it took so long lol. I’ve wanted to do a minion build but that will have to be for another season. Cool vid.

Well I wanted to test them alone. If I help they are always BlodSurging. :stuck_out_tongue: What is key is they didn’t die.

Ok… that’s not the place people are having an issue though, lol. The time it took was in fact still silly though and they didn’t even get you a gold star for the mini-event.

Go to a mid-range NM dungeon and post a video of you slaying in there in similar fashion.

I did notice that. I was cheering for them lol

What malignant hearts are you using besides the decrepify one and can you do this outside of seasons?

Jeez people =o

Its only a video of someone making their minions work alone

its not ment to prove anything =o

This just in. Minions are kinda ok at killing mobs 6 levels lower than them.

Minions are fine.

Since minions inherits 30% of most of your stats…

Does minion attacks are considered basic attacks? =)

Well that’s not true - he specifically said ā€œEveryone is always saying how bad minions are, so I decided to test mineā€. It’s vague enough, but it’s stating a point for the video - not just ā€˜here’s a video of my minions doing stuff solo just for kicks’.

That to me sounds like he’s saying ā€˜people think minions suck, here’s my point or counter point on that subject’ and what i saw in the video was minions surviving in the wilds, taking their time to drop a larger group of mobs, and not being able to clear the event.

What is midrange for my level?

wow this gameplay is about as bad as the dev video. i guess it its nice you can go paint your house and come back and mobs are almost ready to drop loot

thx for showing off how bad minions still are

Actually, I’d argue this is the best time to try one out. The auto cast Heart revives any dead minions before using corpses for Tendrils and procing shadow DoT. Barber is carrying so many builds this season. It is just busted on every build. Kill speed is much slower than most other builds (3-4secs versus1-2secs) but overall I enjoyed getting mine to 100. The auto cast heart is the real champ though this season. At times, when my self-cast tendrils aligned well with the auto cast, I was reminded of my D3 days of using the pull monk and constantly pulling in everything.

Minions do need some serious increases, but they aren’t as bad as most would let you believe.

Best setup for Hearts I found was, Barber, Auto cast on corpses and 20% damage taken suppressed. Great Feast looked good initially but functionally its was terrible since it didn’t work with Determination and you were at 0 essence in almost every scenario. Also, minions have essentially no AoE damage so Barber supplements that perfectly when paired with so many tendril pulls.

they don’t seem that strong  …

Malignant Pact, Auto Corpse activation and the decrepify one.
I did not change those for this, and only the Auto Corpse one is final the other two are in transition, Normally I use Creeping death and the one that shocks.

I have the Great Feast, but I did not like it when I used it before as it makes me helpless with no essence.

Thanks for the information.

I am going to try this out.

You probably want to try Great Feast but it draws all the time, not just when they do damage so you will always need to lead with your generator, you will never have full resource.

Not playing this season. But I’m guessing no Ring of Mendeln, and possibly no Barber heart? I was running the same paragon boards and speced pretty heavily into Cult Leader and then Hulking Monstrosity for my eternal realm Necro. Was also using Bone Spear for damage output. Was a nice setup and was doing decently in WT4. Plus, I leveled up both Skeletal Mage and Warrior glyphs up to 15 as well. I did notice that between a combination of some gear for minions and paragon that my skeleton’s were a lot more tanky and could hold up to almost any encounter without getting sneezed on and dying. But you have to spec really heavily into them. Once I got my Ring of Mendeln the build that I was running was doing way better. But I wasn’t getting those very high crit numbers from my minions. Ultimately I switched over to a Shadow build for better damage output from my minions. Managing to crit about a million for my minions now with no hearts, and at level 92.
