Oh snap it’s a day early. Way to go team! I’m happy to report I killed roughly 50 goblins.
Nobody would be working tomorrow to push the button.
If anyone had any doubt about how many people are playing this showing would suggest otherwise. Still many, many people playing.
Thanks to everyone that chipped in.
Agreed, we went from 25m goblins killed in 5 days (5m goblins a day) to an extra 15m goblins killed in 2 days (7.5m goblins per day). People have been burning the midnight oil somethin fierce.
I am impressed and grateful to everyone who contributed. I feel guilty for not participating, but I was planning to log in during Christmas.
I wanted to “defeat” more than 10 goblins but a beautiful treasure goblin maid took me by her tiny hand and we both are living happily in the tre-go-realm happily since then.
Quite a feat considering the uber boss, “Server Disconnected” made daily appearances.
Time to claim that reindeer!
These numbers could be completely fictitious however and Goblins could be spawning and despawning continuously in Shards and counting towards kills. This would explain the massive disparity in every metric that shows D4 has a very small active playerbase as opposed to the absurd number of Goblins Killed.
At the end of the day as long as I get my rewards I don’t mind if the whole event is pre-planned to give our rewards after a specific amount of time or it’s being tracked by how many goblins we’ve killed. While I highly doubt we were collectively killing the appropriate amount of goblins per day, its not a hill I’m going to die arguing on.
What metrics are you talking about? Apparently, a lot of people are playing to kill this many so quickly.
Sorry not buying it. Tier 5 jumps to 40m goblins from 25m. This is on a timer not a counter. A lot of games do this. Some of them even put a fake counter in and then it always somehow bugs out and you’ll get a post that its bugged but they have the real data internally and people won! One of the companies that does that is Activision… go figure. Its just a marketing thing to drive hype. It drives fomo. They arent going to make these cosmetics and stuff just to not give them to people. If you really believe these numbers are real, I have a bridge for sale.
im with iggi on this one. Who cares if it was a timer or we actually managed to do it legit. I got my loot; that was the point in my participation.
I actually enjoyed this event; unlike the last few. I do think they should do it again sometime but combine it with the normal goblin event so we can get some decent loot while farming. If your a min maxing a character the disparity in GA ancestrals / uniques while farming was alarming. Also; put in a viewable counter even if its just per player (like Varyana’s kill counter) that would be cool giving the grind a old school arcade feel.
If your bridge leads to rewards I’ll buy it.
Also my reply was more or less sarcastic. I don’t believe for a second this wasn’t planned out to give us rewards at set times. At the same time it doesn’t bother me if people believe otherwise. I got my rewards, all is good in Sanctuary.
Merry Xmas to all.
Not possible. You can do the math. Diablo 4s numbers have been in the toilet for some time. Take a gander at how many posts of people who have rarely encountered Goblins. On the high side, average players are reporting maybe 10 a day for the days they have played.
You are naive to think that this isn’t anything more than a publicity stunt first and foremost. I mean, take the reward, but they could have just set it on a timer and been up front about it but let’s be honest, how many people would do anything other than log on for the reward?
I probably contributed about 20 kills myself haha…
Based on what? You have nothing to back this up. Obviously, many people still play regardless of what you like to think.
what, twitch numbers ? those are viewer count not number of players actively playing the game. Steam is not a accurate representation because majority of player uses battle net.
I would think just based on the fact that each person encounter such low number of gobbos is why it is impressive to think there are still tons of players playing the game is how you can possibly hit the tier mark so quickly, based on how many each tier requires kills in the millions.
Assuming blizzard is not making this up , then we def have a lot of players still actively playing the game, collectively reaching the goal for the kills.
