Mutterlock chest

Launched the game again doing some relaxing T100 NMDs with my OP S4 Druid and came across a Mutterlock chest. First time I’ve ever seen one. It is supposed to be opened using a combination of words. I easily found them around. I am pretty sure I selected the right combination of words but the chest just disappeared. Might also have been an unfortunate mouse click. Anyway, the result was no reward at all

Anyone found this type of chest? Was there possibly something interesting inside that I missed?

kinda sad they dont show up more often ^^

loot wise, nah, you didnt miss anything. just a loot chest with some fun twist ^^

I think it shares a loot table with a Resplendent Chest

Typical D4. A super rare item but the same crappy loot as any other chest. Anyway, it is probably for the better. I would have felt very bad if you had told me it was full of Ubers or billions of gold.

I have never seen one, I’ve heard the loot is disappointing but I still hope to find one some day

I found one this season. If it disappeared, it can only mean you must have picked the wrong combination of words.

Sucks but still it was a cool experience right?

Yeah, the loot did suck. Honestly for how insanely rare they are… it should just outright drop an Uber.

Now a guaranteed Uber or 3GA item would be something to get excited about. I’ve opened 3 altogether, I think, and it was all junk inside. Not worth the time of reading the pillars in the right order.

Somewhere on the S4 notes - they improved the loot on those.

I never saw one in S4. In S3, they were on-par with a Resplendent Chest.

You have to select the right combination of words in the correct order as well for the chest to open.

Heh i’ve heard of these but i’ve never seen one. They may as well not exist for me.

Mutterlock chests are extremely rare.

Contrary to their rarity the rewards are extremely disappointing like a few rare items with no guaranteed legendary/unique. I guess they are so rare the developer team doesn’t bother fixing them.

I had one so far. The loot in them is nothing special.

Considering with a 3GA item you still have a ton of RNG with needing 3 of 3 affixes, that seems like the best solution. It would need to be perhaps toward end of dungeon to prevent people from just running by everything to chest hunt and reser dungeons.

I got one a long time ago and got one white item a health pot and a small amount of gold from it.
