Crashes multiple times after a little bit of gameplay. Confused as to why. My computer is not under crazy load and I’m running everything on medium settings. I’m seeing some posts about this, I just don’t know why D4 is so unstable. Must be what comes with a new release.
If you’re seeing the same issues, please don’t hesitate to let me know. I think I’m level ~48-49 so I’m not trippin’, I’ll probably reinstall and see if that helps.

Yeah, it’s happened to me quite a few times. It’s to be expected. IN Time everything Will smooth over…hopefully.
Expect this at the start of every season.
I crashed several times. I went to repair game and it stopped.
yeah, blizzard isn’t the absolute best with their season releases, but everything can’t be perfect. hoping for some stability asap.
Crashed about 4 times today. Don’t remember crashing at all last season.
yeah, i didn’t crash once last season. i verified file integrity in steam and i haven’t crashed since, but it hasn’t been that long tbh. we’ll see.
After crashing some more today I noticed that when the game opened it was using around 13GB of RAM. Then after awhile it goes up to 17GB+ so the crashes may be memory leak related.
I tried the steps in this thread (which is to just set your system page file to the size of your total ram instead of being system managed)
Not sure if that fixes the crashes or not as I haven’t played long enough to know, but after the change the game started at around 10GB of RAM usage and has only gone up to about 14 in more time than it took to get to 17 before, so it may have helped.
didnt you have these issues last season as well buddy? So far no crashes here. However, i also did a fresh install before the season
I’ve been perfectly stable. However, as someone who suffered the crashes frequently at the beginning of last season I wanted to respond to show support of the issue, but also to clarify that apparently there are stable scenarios as well. In case that helps Blizzard narrow down the issue.

Yeah it was WAY Wayyy worst last season, not to mention the lag.
So far, a few crashes here and there… on my horse going real fast in any direction the game kind’a lags a bit while trying to load things in, but for the Most part it’s playable.
Big improvement from last couple of seasons.
It’s interesting that some had lots of issues last season and none this season. I had 0 crashes last season but several in the past couple of days. Maybe in the process of fixing issues for one group from last season they broke it for another group.
I haven’t had a crash since I changed the paging file to match my RAM size instead of system managed though so maybe that fixed it. 
funny, a few mins after i posted this, i did actually have a crash myself. so yea, crash count this season so far: 1
I think last season it was like 3 or so.
False alarm on the pagefile thing fixing it. I finally crashed again in a pit. The bar was 99% full and a fear explosion thing went off, maybe at the same time the bar finished filling and the game crashed. 
I just crashed again. I think that this has been the 5th or 6th crash so far, and that might be a low estimation. I’m lost. I verified file integrity in steam and even reinstalled the game the other night. no dice. crashed last night, too, when i was idle and stepped away from the game.
they delivered a hotfix disabling a witchcraft power but won’t fix the unbearable instability that this game possesses, i’m baffled.
I’m not on outdated tech, I’m running this game on a Ryzen 7 9800X3D and RTX 3070, as well as 32 GB DDR5 RAM (6000 MT/S). I have an EXPO profile set up and turned on, as well… I run it on ~medium settings, too. i have no issues running fornite and plenty of other games whilst streaming and having multiple browser tabs and a music app open. this game, with even a portion of that open, is crashing.
I don’t remember crashing once last season btw. I love this game and buy in for a good 60% of the season, it every season, playing extensive hours throughout. I want to do the same thing this season, but this instability is making it incredibly difficult.

I don’t get those who are just blindly defending this game, you shouldn’t defend any game (no matter how much you love it) if there are obvious issues that need fixing and aren’t being fixed in as timely of a manner as expected.
I’m gonna try to set everything to low but I don’t even think i’m going to bother getting into an intensive gaming session and just play Marvel Rivals instead (on console so totally stable relative to PC release lol). really really sucks. once again, not playing on outdated tech in any regard. wasn’t unstable last season, either.
nah, im not playing poe2 right now. anyway, i didnt crash. sorry that you are so obsessed with d4 that you need to be angry on its forums instead of just playing what you enjoy. but hey, i like trolls, they entertain me.
absolutely agree. Some people here made it their life mission to dislike d4 tho, which hardly allows constructive discussions.
i can agree with that. just making it your life to hate isn’t doing anything productive, for yourself or this forum (which is kinda why it exists, besides the recreational game-related conversations that are had).
I played for a full 10 hours or so with my Druid: not a single crash.
With my necromancer (minions), I get a crash every hour or so.
I hadn’t crashed for awhile but I just had a crash in T4 in a grim favor area as a Cata druid. It’s possible I crashed less after I respeced to Cata. I leveled as a companion Druid when I was getting crashes more frequently.
