I would have preferred a new event. Something like Fathers Blessing.
Fathers Blessing:
Earn powerful items from the father. Rare chance for any item to be a blessed item. Blessed items have a 5th affix if unique and a 4th affix if legendary. These items are limited though and only last until the end of the event or perhaps only work during a father event so you can keep em for later if you want. Blessed items drop more often if you are under effect of blessed shrine.
25% more platinum with any platinum purchase
50% discount on enchanting and free repairs.
40% more XP in any content
100% more gold
Fathers Blessed Shrines can be found at random. These shrines are like normal shrines but last 3 minutes. Kill monsters while blessed to earn Fathers favor. Spend fathers favor at the Blessed Favor merchant including new cosmetics and random type caches and glyph xp orbs for equipped glyphs. Fathers shrines can appear in hordes rarely.
Blessed goblins can also be found very rarely. These gobs only drop blessed items. Blessed goblins have very high movement speed. Trap em!
How about Diablo’s Blessings

Diablos Blessing:
Each powerful items from hell. Rare chance for any items to be hell imbued. Hell imbued items have 1 powerful hell affix but drain aberrant cinders. IF you run out of cinders for these to drain they lose their hell affixes. Hell imbued items only work during a Diablo Blessing event. Hell affixes have a propensity for PVP related affixes.
100% more xp in helltides. Chance for Echo of Diablo to appear in helltides once the hells chosen meter is filled. Fill the meter by engaging in PVP in helltides. PVP is enabled in all helltides in certain areas. You drop 100% of your cinders on death in helltide even out of PVP areas. Any player can pick them up. Cinders persist when helltides end.
Hells Chosen cosmetic set earnable with large amounts of cinders
200% more gold in helltides
Hellish Shrines can be found at random. These shrines turn wherever you are as counting as a helltide and give bonus cinder drops if you are already in a helltide. Find one in a horde for an explosion of cinders! They also can summon cinder gobs rarely and give one random hell affix. These last 3 minutes.
Cinder goblins can be found in helltides and 10 spawn when echo of diablo is summoned.
3 Example of Hell Affix:
Hatreds Ambassador: 25% more life, resource, crit chance, and crit damage.
Hellfall: Each 3 seconds 2 Meteors rains down around you for each instance of this on your gear and target players if possible.
Flaming Scimitars: Summon 1 95% invulnerable flaming scimitar for each instance of this affix. The scimitar channels incinerate at your level. Flaming scimitars will target players over PvE.

These events are always irrelevant to me, but I do find it ironic that while testing another patch whose only real practical outcome is to slow down and limit progression they advertise an event to speed up progression.
