Most players are console players it seems

I figured the Diablo series would mostly be PC players. Seems that has gone away. Unless this poll changes drastically, as it could since it’s so early. Also, perhaps this is swayed by the demographic of people who actively use twitter – maybe more overlap with console players.

But regardless, here is the poll. I suppose I can’t fault Blizzard for catering this game and UI to console. As much as I hate the zoom, and all that. Oh well.

There’s a reason so many games are designed for consoles first.

I’m not surprised, there’s a lot more consoles than there are PCs out there. Consoles are more affordable. Still near 40% on PC is not bad.

Sheesh, that’s a dumb reason to block someone.

When Nvidia prices RTX 4080s and 4090s so high are you really surprised that more and more people see consoles as being better value for the money? First people had to deal with ruthless scalpers and Nvidia taking advantage of the situation during the pandemic, then they have to deal with the ridiculous price gouging of the 40 RTX series. PC gaming is just becoming more and more inaccessible with everything that’s been going on.

The main reason is PC gaming still not being very big in Japan. Japanese culture still predominantly views PC as something for work or productivity, and more recently they even started drifting away from console and towards mobile… hence why the Switch was born.

Japan has always been huge into mobile, train rides and such.

It’s not like you HAVE to deal with the 40 series. There’s cards out there that will put you above console performance for not much more in cost.

Yet when you look at forum activity in this game and other games forums, the most active forums (both in discussions and bug reports) are always for PC players.

So I’m not so sure it can be claimed that most players are on consoles.

I wonder if demographics of who uses twitter more, console players or pc players plays a part.

I’m on PC, I never use Twitter, I use reddit more.

Wow. You are just a fount of horrible takes and room-temperature-IQ comments.
If you on Twitter is anything like you here; I’m not surprised you were blocked.

Given everything going on with consoles right now, especially xbox. They are pretty active on twitter right now.

The 40 series itself isn’t even that bad anymore now that a 4070 Ti is out and cheaper than the higher end 30 series. The point is a lot of people will be intimidated long before they actually figure out how to build a cost-effective PC with the recent price gouging on certain components

you also have to factor in that NG consoles JUST started becoming available in most areas, they’ve been out of stock due to scalpers basically since launch

A lot of that was honestly exaggerated imho…

I had no problem finding 2 PS5s(one for someone else) during the so-called shortage and the systems had been on PS Direct multiple times for direct order for days at a time. Some people just don’t care about buying off scalpers it seems. The PS5 seems to be doing record numbers right now though.

I have a ps4, it’s used to watch netflix lol.

Nice things about PCs is it’s generally not 1 upfront cost though, I have parts of my pc that are 10 years old.

Consoles are cheaper and have far less worry about “optimization” issues.

PC always pulls ahead in power and mod freedom. There are benefits to both.

Moving away from that with the price of the consoles lately honestly.

PC gaming is the superior option, but it is also about twice as expensive at least instead of buying a console.

Where a PS five will cost you $500 ect…. A decent PC might be a minimum of $1000 or more for just the tower. And if you want to get fancy you’ll pay two or three grand for your tower.

And I think the console population is about 3 to 1 versus the PC population. So sadly that’s probably why.

I hate Console, and 80% of the games, every once in a while there will be a great gem of a game on the console…but that’s it

I mean… theres been some pretty horribly optimized console releases lately…

I started out with consoles back when I was a kid when they first began (Atari 2600 to date myself) and then we had pretty much every one up to the original Playstation but at some point in the 90s I switched over to PC and now I could never switch back. I am way too used to mouse and keyboard and sitting up in front of a desk to go back to sitting on a couch in front of a big TV with a controller. I even bought a controller for my PC to try Elden Ring on because I thought it would be better and I hated it and went back to mouse and keyboard right away.
