Mortal Draw Glyph Barbs

I would like to know if Mortal Draw works for Whirlwind. Like if the skill damage bonus when swapping works for the entire channel duration? or just the first hit? I know for Hammer Ancient is pretty straight forward just wondering if it works for WW

So I was curious about this as well and just tested it.
I went to WT2, found a cellar, cleared it out and left 1 elite.
I equiped white gear and WWd that elite several times for my entire fury pool.
I would count how many times I crited and tp to town to resent the mob.
I would always let the first two ticks of the WW go into nothing, incase Mortal Draw works only on the first cycle.

So after around 20 tries in total:

  • with Mortal Draw I would get reliably 7 crits. I got 9 and 11 once.
  • without the glyph I would get reliably 3-4 crits. I got 1 crit once.

This looks quite convincing to me that it snapshots the weapon swap for 18% crit.
From my understanding the way it works is that it rolls 18/100 and then it rolls your character’s crit x/100.

My character’s sheet crit chance was 10,9%. So 5% base and 5,9% from dex.

Based on this finding I suppose that the Heart of Focused Rage, which gives 36% crit after spedning fury, also snapshots. I kinda used it for a while at the very start of the season, and it definately felt like it was working that way. Unfortunately back then the buff would get used up by shouts, dashes etc, so I swaped it out. But I believe they fixed it.

Edit:
Just a small edit, I noticed the OP talks about skill damage. I didn’t pay attention to the numbers, only the crit frequency, but I don’t see why damage increase wouldn’t apply. Might be difficult to tell since it’s in the bucket with bunch of other dmg types.

Regarding the damage buff of the glyph:
it kind of does work, but it is bugged for ww.
(at least it was this way last I played, which was pre 1.1.1, so who knows if it has changed by now)

So what it does:
it does apply the bonus damage and snapshots it to the “almost final” damage calculation of ww.
In raw damage numbers that results in an actually higher true damage increase than the regular purely additive damage calc would. (I think for me it increased ww dmg by about x45% or sth, I tested it by recording and noting down the numbers).

BUT, if you are using the bleed node, this is NOT applied to the base damage the bleed is taken from, which basically means you actually lose damage in relation to a different glyph since this specific bleed damage is multiplied (=double dipped) by +%core and x%core damage (e.g. Unbridled Rage) and as such is actually a significant junk of your dps if you use that skill node, but your base damage is now lower than if you had used a different rune e.g. with +%close dmg.
