More love for Joypad Warriors <3

First i (filthy unwashed & unworthy peasant :woman_elf:) want to say that the controller steering in general is awesome in this game.

BUT… after playing the nice andariel barrage rogue i noticed the following unconvenient behavior:

  • You give us new weapons with unique skills like the Umbracrux that will pop up a shadow totem we can shoot at after we dropped a smoke grenade or a poison trap.

I personally like using the poison trap but when i activate the poison trap using my controller button it places the totem here or there. So when theres plenty action on the screen i have to play a hidden object game to search for it between all the other effects. Thats totally cancelling my fighting gameflow.

Solution if possible: For controller users that wants to pop up the totem by using a poison trap, please let the totem pop up in front of the player so we can directly shoot at it.

Picking up loot using the controller when theres a totem near it is not possible. The character will continue shooting at the totem and you wont be able to pick up the loot. So if you have a well rolled Umbracrux you will have to wait 9 seconds till the totem dissappears and then you can start picking up the loot.

If the dev who created the umbracrux played and tested it on controller this shouldnt be an issue now.

I hope this can and would be fixed.

Solution is obviously to discontinue controller support until egregious mouse & keyboard oversights have been fixed. :upside_down_face: Too many to list.

That must be the ONLY dev who doesn’t have a controller permanently grafted to their hands.

Idk if it would help, but using Umbracrux in an AOE situation (many mobs) is not ideal regardless of controller. It’s a straight up DPS loss (A legendary dagger /w aspect and temper provides much more dmg + Life). If you shoot into the totem in AOE, it’s even more of DPS loss. So it’s actually recommended that you use 2x legendary daggers if you are dealing with waves and switch to Umbracrux for boss fight. Unfortunately, it means you are carrying another dagger in your inventory and you also need to invest in innervation with either 3 hard points or through temper when you aren’t using Umbracrux (I just always invest 3 hard points in it even though i dont need it /w Umbracrux)

Umbracrux is good for one thing and it’s the boss fight (only 1 monster on the screen).

If the totem is only spawned on the boss fight, would that help with your controller problem in any way?

That’s great. Trust me, your wave clearing in IH will be significantly better without Umbracrux. Umbracrux is actually a subpar dagger for Andy barrage in terms of base stats it provides, its only good for spawning a totem in boss fight.

There are some situations where you may want umbracrux outside of boss fight. It’s nmd or open world. Some nmd and open world / Helltide dont have a lot of density and mobs die in just 1 hit, so you may quickly run out of targets from which you can gain energy and it can be annoying. Sometimes you just wanna spawn a totem just to shoot into it to gain energy and continuously fire barrage. Hope blizzard improves controller experience!
