Monster Diversity. Talk

Hopefully devs can talk about this, soon.

The regions feel a little lacking in Monster types Unique to the regions.

Some regions are great, the drowned and new types like that.

Others like the desert regions, don’t feel like there is enough variety, and region specific monsters.

Thinking of the Desert act in D2, so many more types,

D4 - Giant scorpions are cool, but where is the rest.

Is it just me?

Probably another issue of forced release i can’t imagine the devs wanted this, it’s properly baked in some regions, with monster diversity versus others seem to have the usual cast maybe one or two new ones.

There are giant sand worm corpses in the Desert region, and one is worshipped. Imagine fighting one alive.

I had the feeling since my first playthrough that right now we only have act one of the game. No heaven or hell environments. Lilith is the final boss. Mephisto teasers. No Diablo in the game… Feels like act one to me.

I hope so, still feel some zones could use a few added types.

I like thinks like Constructs , the mummy spawner.

And stuff like that.

I think they will ultimately open up the whole Sanctuary, starting by expanding the map to the south where the jungle exists.

That map certainly does allow them quite a few added expansions 3 maybe 4 depending on content.

true , i am looking forward to that, and it’s not meant as a complaint just so everyone knows.

lol.

just a observation and taste thing

I’m sure we will see more when the expansion comes out and the story continues. The devs already said the first 2 expansions will be story driven.

Let’s up today’s update fixes some things.

When we speak about monster diversity, we should refers to how they change your game, not the skin. For example I like/fear the cannibals, they jump to you and stun. I feel them.like a bigger threat and for this they are welcome. Also within the “cannibals” group the is variety (who jumps, who cry…)

I like also the skeletons, slow but with high damage, the archers, the bows…

The spiders…

But some mobs are “flat brain line” for me, e.g. the mentioned skorpions

Where did you find the corpses? I found corpse in a stronghold in Dry Steppes and a sarlacc pit in Khejistan. Anywhere else?

Honestly though, many of the monsters are demons. Demons all come from hell. So there should be similarities there.

I hate seeing the same monster families in every zone. Previous Diablo games had some variety.

In the canyon below to the left:

This one you can see it up close:

BTW it seems that those corpses are from a different species compared to the “sarlacc pit” worm since their mouths are different.

There is also another “sarlacc pit” in Charnel House

Where in the hell are my Lakuni, Blizzard? They should be all over Kehjistan and the Dry Steppes.

I have edited the links lol, the previous ones can’t save markers.

Daaaamn those things are huuuuge, wonder why Blizzard didn’t add one as a bossfight.

Absolutely, I agree.

I only hope even if its not until a xpac, they can add some in this way , maybe they felt some d2 monsters where not fitting to the realism/medieval world they wanted :person_shrugging:

But yeah some areas of Kehjistan have beautiful terrain and sands, and just lack something new to fight. with of course the unique combat mechanics.
