In the Missing Pieces quest, I spoke to the Merchant and received both the weapon for Lorath and the Medallion.
Before returning the items to Lorath, I discovered that I can create a clan - so I spent quite a bit of time filling out it’s information before I was disconnected from the game for not moving (understandable).
Once I logged back in I figured I would return the Missing Pieces back to Lorath at his horse… except the pieces are literally missing from my Inventory’s “Quest” tab.
I checked with the Merchant again to see if maybe somehow the game didn’t save that I picked them up, but they are not there.
I went to the location where I was standing (next to the Stash) when I was logged out and found that both of the items were laying on the ground in the world.
