Minor Minion Buffs

I know I know its mostly nerfs but still some little bread crumbs for minions.

  • Golems move faster and unhindered through enemies when their Cooldown is activated…
  • Raise Skeleton, Corpse Explosion, and Corpse Tendrils range for auto-targeting Corpses on mouse and keyboard increased by 50%.
  • Raise Skeleton Skeletal Priest bonus damage increased from 20% to 30%.
  • Raise Skeleton Skeletal Priest healing increased from 10% to 15%.

  • Aspect of Reanimation Skeletons damage bonus increased from 20-30% to 30-40%
  • Skeleton Warrior Defenders Upgrade Thorns inherited increased from 40% to 50%.
  • Shadow Skeleton Mage Upgrade attacks required for an additional shadow bolt reduced from 5 to 4.
    Stat:
  • Summoning Skill Damage: Increased by ~25%.

with Summoning Skill Damage: Increased they mean the stat than can roll on items right?

and funny side node, in the german translation its " Summoning Skill Damage: Increased by ~33% and not 25 :smiley:

Necromancer Malignant Heart:

The Great Feast (Wrathful, Super-World Tier IV): Each Minion drains 1.0-2.0 Essence per second but deals 50-75% increased damage. With no Minions, this bonus applies to you and drains 5 Essence per second.

I’m wondering if this will help the minion build be viable in any way…

That’s actually pretty interesting if you take a step back. A 75% bonus to minion damage means they know minions can get a massive damage boost and still not be overpowered.

Overall the changes are decent. The buff to the skeleton aspect and the priest buffs are pretty huge. One of the aspects I didn’t see get posted in here is they reduced the cooldown for ice mage blizzard from 10 seconds to 8. Overall I still think there is room to play but i think even with this minor buffs summon necro is now going to be a in a much better place. My main gripe is the AI (which I didn’t expect to be fixed this patch anyway) and that we still don’t have a good minion unique.

Bear in mind the season will be voided when it ends, meaning nothing’s coming with you back to the base game. This allows ActiBlizz to get crazy with seasonal buffs, knowing it won’t have any lasting impact on the game.

So, enjoy it while it lasts I guess.

Correct- there was no effective balancing done to minion damage whatsoever.

Mendeln was supposed to be that unique. I know, I know… But that is what is was supposed to be.

Mendeln is more useless now that we are focusing more resources into minions as it doesn’t scale with minions.

They still didn’t fix attack speed from minions and frenzied or commander from scaling at 30%.

They still haven’t fixed shadow mages being unable to proc gloom, terror, or shadowblight, or receiving a bonus from shadow damage.

They still haven’t fixed “minion type” inherits thorns on skeletal warriors to actually do anything at all.

We still have 3 thorns affixes we have to squeeze on gear and the amount of thorns you can get is far too low for a stat that doesn’t scale with minion damage bonuses.

Minion agro is still broken requiring you use bone golem’s taunt.

No A.I. changes for minions…

We can maybe run both decrepify and iron maiden with the new heart?

They still haven’t fixed needleflare aspect to work on minions.

They nerfed minion survivability…

The 10% damage from skeletal priest, 20% from reanimation, and 75% from the malignant heart, gets minions to a better place but not vastly so.

It is now better to ignore warrior, mage, and golem, glyphs all together.

It is now better to only take all minion effects in cult leader and ignore individualistic ones. Glyph node hunting is far superior now as multipliers will always put perform additive bonuses.

We will have to see if minions can proc damage dealing hearts like the arc lightning one.

The nerfs to grasping veins along with crit and vulnerable damage might completely negate the multipliers we got… Both for thorns and for flat damage.

Once again, the nerfs to disobedience and the ability to use skulls will make it nearly impossible for our army to survive. I actually can not see a way to keep minions alive after this.

I am sad that daily messages to the Diablo developers meant nothing. Honestly starting to think they are literal figure heads and the actual developers who code the game never see feedback. I am actually somewhat convinced they only listen to their play testers and that is why meta builds get attention.

I don’t care about this. This is a seasonal buff that’ll only last for as long as the season itself before it gets voided.

The second the season ends, minions are back to being complete garbage instead of very slightly competitive.

unless it was silently fixed in this patch, they also still haven’t fixed the flat %minion damage stat which was only applying about 20-50% of its listed value in most cases, the exception being the % minion damage from legendary aspects and skills like decompose and blight. so, if you had a maxed Deadraiser glyph on the cult leader board you should get 50% minion damage from nearby nodes, but you actually got 10-25%. you also only receive 15-30% of %minion attack speed provided by equipment.
