Minions Will ALWAYS Engage Targets with Cast Curse: False

This patch note is simply not true. I’ve singled out 1 target as well as multiple targets with a curse and it almost works the opposite, the minions all move past the cursed mob and attack anything else. Neither Decrepify and Iron Maiden do what this patch note says. I’ve tried with with all enhancement combinations as well as none.

The minion behavior is unchanged. Although the Blood Golem seems even more confused if that was possible.

It is NOT a TARGET minion skill.
Before patch - Group of mobs, if I use a curse on them, minions stand next to me and do nothing
After patch - Group of mobs, if I use a curse on them, minions will start attacking.

The change has made it so that using a curse on a mob or a group of mobs will put your minions in to combat. If your minions are already in combat then casting a curse will NOT make them change target or target the mob you have cursed.

lmao the amount of people who didn’t comprehend this patch note is amazing. Anyone who has ever used pets and curses knows curses didn’t trigger combat. So the common sense concluision to that note is “Hey, decrepify will make them go into combat now like any other spell that hits enemies.” Instead we have people “oMg Y PeTs No FoCus”

I’m so happy with this change. Has made my D2 necro style 100% more playable and enjoyable for me.

This is why I love it. I spammed the hell out of decrep at the start of combat and when I think it might have worn off.

Overall, this small change will likely result in 1-3 nightmare tiers of difficulty that I can add without an issue. Once I swap out the basic attack I used to get them to attack, I expect it will do even better, but easily a few levels worth.

If decrep also still doesn’t cause Aggro, it might do even more for me as it will likely make it so my pets charging get agro instead of me.

I kinda want to install D2 just to play necro now :frowning:

If what you are saying is true that is the most poorly worded patch note ever. Additionally, NONE of the buffs addressed our core issues.

That is not the case either. I have a clip of most minions ignoring a cursed banshee while like 3 reapers were chopping away at it.

Which has nothing to do with curses. That’s just minion AI in general. You act like minions never went afk while half the other minions were in combat before. Doesn’t change the fact they added curses to flag enemies as hostile to put it on par with every other spell to start combat.

Sounds like a bug fix/nerf more than anything. We lost the ability to curse mobs before engaging them.

ALL ENEMIES ARE HOSTILE ANYWAY. That’s the bloody point.

But sometimes you don’t want to engage. For example, it may be an elite you don’t want to fight, and you run around it by stance.

If minions engage all mobs, that’d be a problem because they just aggro anything on the screen.

No… they aren’t. Which is why minions wont attack them until they attack you or you attack them. You can literally stand inches away from a mob and they will ignore it until it attacks you. In your case of half minions sitting idle thats purely a minion AI issue which has always existed since day one. Has nothing to do with todays patch. Cursing an enemy isnt going to magically remove every AI bug that was already present in minions.

I don’t need my minions to have high intelligence. I need my minions to obey my commands for I am the necromancer, summoner, their creator. I wish to demand my MINION TARGET the thing I want it to attack.

can’t be so hard to introduce a button to focus enemies, like Last Epoch does… that doesn’t speak for Blizzard…
