Minions have straw for brains

The minion AI is horrendous. They wander around, get stuck, tunnel vision some mob off screen you don’t give a dam about. While I am getting gutter stomped by hordes of demons my minions are off playing patty cake with the wall.

You can buff their damage by a billion percent it won’t make a difference. Blizzurd you need to add a keybind that we can use to direct their attacks at a single target. Every other arpg on Earth has it, please, please add it.

This is even more relevant now with the new stronghold in the expn. Minions just sitting in darkness with a invincible boss just getting murdered while you’re running around trying not to die. They keep saying they really want the necro to be a fun summoner but DO NOT DO A DAMN THING TO ENHANCE THE PLAYSTYLE OF THE MINION BUILDS BESIDES POINTLESS DAMAGE BUFFs. When are these devs actually going to “listen” to the community that has been absolutely begging them to let us control the god damn minions?

I don’t know what game you are playing… but i’m having the most chilled out experience going, levelled in Penitent, straight into T1 at 60, need to farm up some more pit mats so I can go T2 as my damage is insane.

People forgot how to play minion builds, when you don’t have controll over them I guess.

there are 2 times where I get a bit annoyed with my straw brained helpers though.

One, the event in NMD where there is a platform in the middle surrounded by pillars and you have to kill monsters on this platform to spawn 2 elites… I always fail this because my minions just delete everything where they spawn before they can wonder onto the platform. I cannot hook them onto it because I have no corpses on it either  My latest stratagy is to run out the room and rush back in hoping 1 or 2 monsters made it onto the platform so I have corpses there to start hooking with tendrils
My second is when I step up in difficulty and I see a goblen… I don’t mind running about after it and possibly dying… its when its teleporting out and sometimes (very rarely) my minions just dont get on him fast enough and golem active is on CD.

These are absolutely nothing in the world of frustrating mechanics compared to rolling “dodge” on every single defensive tempering though

I just skipp those and the 3 blood pillars. XD

That is why I always have atleast a base skill on my bar.

I don’t know what this has to do with minion being stupid, sorry. Fun fact: minions inherit dodge chance though.

RNG rageometer :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I can’t make sure if that’s actually the case, but I have the feeling that a change introduced in the 1.5.0 patch was rolled back:

Minions are now more aggressive and will automatically engage nearby enemies.

Before the 2.0.x patches, minions seemed far more “motivated” and “intelligent” when engaging enemies. Since then, they really seem to be standing around more often or even trailing behind in some cases
This might very well be a side-effect from other changes though…

I’ve had the same feeling and to be honest, I like it. I don’t see my minions running after things off the screen nearly as much anymore.
