This should just be fixed. We ALREADY know how this goes thanks to D3 and many other ARPGs that Minions who can die never EVER scale well into Endgame and ruins entire classes ability to function.
We do NOT need to go through the whole experiment of “what if they can die” we already know what happens it ruins the entire experience. And if the answer is “well we will just scale them up to survive with Gear” then why have them die in the first place if you are just going to scale their averages with gear to the point they survive endgame?
Just STOP making 20 year old mistakes…its dumb. REALLY dumb that we are repeating these problems AGAIN.

This past week I went into the World Boss with 5 necro. Tons of skeletons running around before the boss started. As soon as she did the first swipe, there was no more skeleton for the rest of the encounter.
Blizzard made the right choice. Got to have the oppotunity cost.

You literally just explained the problem. The entire class ceases to function from a class fantasy / build perspective from a single boss attack.
If you can’t understand why that is TERRIBLE game design and why NO OTHER ARPG does it…I mean come on man.

Perhaps there’s an item that does just that but we didn’t have access to when it could drop in the beta.
Sure but why, why are solving issues the game is making by taking up an Aspect slot. That’s also terrible game design. “Hey, here’s a flawed class feature that absolutely sucks…here’s the forced item solution you literally HAVE to run to function endgame.”

I mean every other build has make or break items so it’s par for the course.
People are so rigid when it comes to the fantasy they want to play out in these games “I’m going to play this spec and if it doesn’t work for all content it needs to be buffed”
That’s not true at all, most other classes use items to “enhance” builds and make them better. That is NOT at all the same as - “You need this item to even have a build.”

Oppotunity cost dude. You pick the wrong playstyle for the encounter. That’s just how blizz design the game. Shoehorned players into specific build for specific encounters. Do I want to AFK a boss while my minions do all the work? Sure I do. Will blizzard ever allow that to happen? Never!
So enhancing your minions to be unkillable or like the gem in d3 reduces their damage taken by 90% doesn’t fall under that category??
I mean you just said it, you don’t want to waste an aspect slot on it, because you want to put another aspect there and have it baked into the minions… so are we gonna bake other stuff into other classes as well so they can stack other aspects?
Every time you make a POST on the FORUMS and yell every few WORDS, it reduces the chances anyone will take you SERIOUSLY
No, it just means that you also have to be cognizant of generating corpses in your build.

That isn’t opportunity cost, you are basically saying you have to respec every single time you want to do specific costs and Blizzard has literally gone out of their way to make respecing to fit scenarios impossible by their gold design and them flat out saying “It’ll eventually be easier to start over than respec” which is not a design that allows a Necromancer to have to hot swap every single time a world boss shows up.
I’m not replying to you anymore unfortunately boltbane just on the stance that you don’t seem to have the understanding of the situation and I don’t want to have to explain 20 years of already gained knowledge to you.
Haha, this made me very rapidly respec into the corpse spawn on attack passive.
Was managing to keep a lil’ fighting force of them going inbetween the sweep attacks over the course of the fight, but it did take a lot of effort.
I’ll also change my skirmishers into defenders via the book when going into that WB fight again for sure.
That works fine in like Normal, Vet, maybe Hell…but the moment we get into Torment and things 1 shot your mobs and leave you defenseless it doesn’t pan out how your brain thinks it does. Again, we already know this from years of going through it.
You know there is a skill so skeles cant be one shot right? I think it is called deaths defense. can only loose up to a % of life per hit. Not sure about druid pets.
Take it as you will, but in the Corpse Explosion thread on here someone was mentioning minions were fine in endgame difficulty stuff. No way to verify it atm ofc.
Years of going through it in completely different games has no bearing on this game.
Maybe you’re right, maybe you’re wrong. We’ll find out in a few months.
Sure, how silly of a waste of a passive point Skeleton tanking two mobs - first one procs passive second one .00001 sec after kills him outright.
I don’t think you understand it yet mate. Minions are a secondary resource to summoners. A player has to be able to manage that resource.
I’m not sure if you’re playing your necro pet build wrong.
