Title pretty much says it all, I have been watching multiple forums and Youtube like a hawk seeing if any minion Necro is able to pull off tier 8 horde and I have yet to find a single one nine days in. The whole point of speed leveling was to do the end game content and minion Necro cannot do the end game content which is currently tier 8 horde most likely soon to be tier 10 later in the season meanwhile minion Necro will still be stuck in Tier 7 Horde and struggling to do that.

afaik you won’t see any because minions are bugged. They aren’t benefitting from modifiers.
Is there notes from Blizzard to support this? I ask because it does feel like something is off. But it just could be me.
Haven’t seen notes from Blizzard, but I was looking into minion builds for my necro and several guides had a disclaimer stating that minions were not currently benefitting from modifiers so to wait to use the build.

Well it’s not only that. There are ample issues with minions in IF… Here are a few.

You’re reliant on Decrepify which costs 10 essence. you have to use it a LOT in an area this big, with mobs attacking from different places and having to move around for the events… Now, this would be fine, but the new “Minion Aspect” costs upto 28 essence PER SECOND which is barely makeable with gear + full 3 points in corpse use. But it gimps the use of Decrepify massively. You can’t use it anywhere near as often, meaning your cooldowns don’t reset, mobs aren’t reduced in damage output, etc. It’s a devastating unintended nerf.

Pets don’t attack masses. It means you can’t do half of the events, so you get very few Aether, and you “time out” of the wave faster due to failing them.

Pet build has no AoE at all due to the nerf to Shadowblight key passive. Shadowblight was the AoE engine that carried the build in mass mob situations. Currently your only AoE comes from Golem activation (Which is a small area of effect once every 12 seconds). Decrepify nerf described earlier cripples this.

Attached to the above, pets RELY on hitting the same target for things to die… Having 75000 mobs on the screen and 14 pets + a golem all hitting a different target means absolutely nothing dies. You are completely reliant on your ult and golem activate to score EVERY SINGLE KILL in the wave, basically because they’re the only source of AoE damage possible.

Both of the above, means you get no corpses. Which gimps your essence regain (stated above), means you can’t buff your pets, or yourself, it also means you can’t corpse tendrils to stack things up for a solid AoE hit.
The entire reason that Minions suck is a mixture of bugs with them not hitting environment, and Shadowblight being basically removed completely from the game.
IFs are unplayable as Minion Necro.

Wait for the rework, minions are weak in endgame content for now. Switch to Blood Surge or BoneSpirit, or create sorcerer or rogue, they are good this season.
You clearly have very little experience with not just the game but with minions…
Use the new aspect that gives you a aura that trigger both curses and also spread. Watch the whole screen being cursed…

Group them togheter, use reapers(they hit in area rather than single target) , use Golem on the grouped up enemies.
And Shadowblight has never been a AOE, and still isnt.

Reap, Hewed Flesh, Blood Mist, AOD all creates corpses.
You are probably referring to “Blighted” aspect and not Shadowblight.
Minions can still do good without it, just have to build correctly.
But i do agree that they feel nerfed this season because of Blighted aspect being nerfed, but they are far from useless as you make it seem, they are like one tier below what they were in last season imo.

Just, want to throw it out, you’re typing recommendations like every single Minion Necro isn’t having these difficulties. What you’re typing looks so good and easy, in writing… Go and try it, it doesn’t work that way. Plain and simply, it does-not-work.

Yes it is, i main Necro and have played it A LOT, and not just Minion builds, i know the class well enough to give recomendations/tips and thats what i try to do here.
All of my recommendations WORK, you just have to try them out.
Are Minion builds as strong as Andys Rogue or LS Sorc? No, but they are good enough and not as bad as you make them seem.
By how you are typing and describing things makes it look like you really dont know what you are talking about tbh, there are a handful of good Necro content creators and players here on the forum that gladly help you with certain issues, me included.
And the way you type and describe your problems tells me that you dont know how to build.
Seen videos of Minion Necros clearing T7 Horde and 135+ pits this season, and the season is only like a week old so they dont really have optimal min/maxed gear yet so it can only get better from there.

You realize Blood Surge clears tier 8 with ease and it only has a single button on the bar right? Which is Blood Surge, minion is by far not the lowest effort build.
And spamming lighting spears/FOs is just the epitome of skill and decision making, right

Such an exaggeration, omg. Not being able to do tier8 doesn’t mean they’re unplayable by any stretch.
Also, why do you people have the need to make every single thing as flat as possible? aka 1 build does EVERYTHING. If your minion build can’t clear pinnacle content, then play a different F’ing build. Jeez.

I just think it’s funny how you saying bull**** like “well uh, maybe not every build isn’t supposed to do everything” while playing the overpowered, easy mode baby class that does everything.
FYI, I’m not a class loyalist. I play Rogue, Barbarian, and Sorceress.
