This stat doesn’t seem to function as anticipated, unless there is some special calculation I’m unaware of. If my minions attack at 1.0 attack per second, and I have 100% increased minion attack speed during army of the dead via the Unyielding Commander aspect, is it wrong to expect to have 2.0 attacks per second while it’s active? Through testing of my own and others, it appears minions are receiving maybe 15-30% of the minion attack speed % stat. This also seems to be the case for the key passive, paragon, etc, which leads me to believe it’s a function of how minion attack speed is applied or calculated. During army of the dead, with that aspect equipped, minion attack speed on the character sheet remains unchanged and there is no active effect / buff. Kalan’s Edict shows as a buff, but does not affect character sheet minion attack speed. It is not apparent that any of these increase minion attack speed by the stated percentages.
An example - 1.2 base weapon speed, 12% character attack speed, 0% minion attack speed, minions receive 30% of the 12%, they attack at around 1.08 attacks per second. With 12% character attack speed and 53% minion attack speed, they then attack for 1.17 attacks per second.
This above example can be visually confirmed watching DryBear’s video on YouTube regarding minion damage testing.
In addition, the Frenzied Dead aspect bonus falls off to zero benefit when attacking the same enemy, after reaching its cap and 3 seconds have passed. On single targets, the aspect does not refresh after falling off and you must attack a new target to gain the attack speed again, which then only lasts for 3 seconds.
