Minion and Mendeln Bugs Persisting After Patch

Minions dead as disco and it’s never coming back because blizzard lacks the current tech talent to understand the game that the former tech talent developed.

If the current tech team can’t understand game systems, how can they be expected to fix them. I mean they can’t even update plain text tool tips. Talk about incompetence!

I remember when this game was in beta, and people were debating the merits of making your own build vs using a guide. Reality is, unless you sit down with a spreadsheet and test every little thing, it’s impossible to know if something actually works the way you believe it should. Most people probably have to rely on 3rd-party information about mechanics, lest they can’t really know what is working and how.

The main issue with Minion Necro is really lack of Paragon Boards. There’s Golem and there’s Skeleton (Cult Leader). Most of Cult Leader are defensive bonuses, which don’t help that much.

Both boards should be combined, then another Minion board introduced. One defensive, one offensive, rather than a Golem/Skeleton split.

Another major issue with minion play is also the plethora of CC that enemies throw out. Skeletons that are frozen/feared deal 0 damage. Defensive Legendary Node should make all Minions immune to CC.

Compare to all the damage boosts Shadow gains from Paragon. Minion just pales.

Using a crutch of Mendeln just means summoner becomes overly reliant on a single drop. The ring should also use whatever damage type has the highest boost of the Necro rather than always Physical.

from what i understand people reported these issues during the PTR for this season already. they also have been reported at the start of the season - its been officially acknowledged one week into the season … and now, 3 weeks since then we get this “fix” and that kind of answer from the community manager. i think its pretty obvious that there are some deeper issues at the company and how D4 development is done right now than simply “not being aware of bugs” etc … i wouldnt get my hopes up too high for the near future because those sort of things tend to only get sorted out when player numbers start to dwindle significantly

you cant now … because they havent decied what season minion will be good …

So wait 4 or 12 seasons …til that time when Devs say now we want you to play minion .

D4 is not what we expected sadly
You cant play what you want like ( shadow damge or poison or bleeding or wolves or barrage or ww …ect
Any othere game you play the roll you like and don everything in that game … but here

One of the issues that could be easily overlooked is the broken interaction between Mendeln and Elite Damage. Titan’s Fall, Eliminator Glyph and elite damage paragon nodes all broken for Mendeln!

Dev workflows are typically inefficient for corporations like Blizzard because they don’t get talented devs for their wages in Cali. It just doesn’t happen anymore.

So what may seem like an easy fix is likely being passed onto a Jr dev who barely knows what’s going on, is already working 10+ hour days and is generally treated like crap.

It’s a top down management issue that’s spurred by a combination of low wages and a bad place for their HQ to be. You do not get top talent or anything approaching mid talent with those wages and that’s ultimately why they’re in this situation.

100% They always brake more than they fix, and then rebrake it or some thing else when trying to fix again. This is the Diablo 4 cycle. Complete incompetence. No wonder why your best programmers/devs/ and admins leave. The minion build is a great example. All the promises to fix the minion build since it’s inception, yet here we are almost 2 years laters, and it may be a favorite build, but it’s still a crap build because of your empty promises. Broke, broke, and more broke.

A lot of stuff IS broken, some of which has been broken SINCE BETA, and while reported, has gone completely unanswered. Why even have a Bug Report and Class Forum if it is rarely ever even acknowledged? I mean, Mountain’s Fury (which is still kind of broken lol) and Mendeln/Minions have been one of the very rare exceptions.

I can absolutely guarantee you that every Season, more stuff will be broken tham fixed. It feels like rowing in a canoe that has holes popping up and even plugging a hole, 4 more pop up.

It would go a long way if Blizzard had real Class CMs that interacted with players and had a Sticky for documenting and testing things that are, or appear to be broken. Is that too much to ask? Not even asking Blizzard to do proper QA/QC and testing.

It’s a ghoulish thought, but last year was devastating for development teams. There are literally thousands of laid-off code-monkeys in the job market right now, the majority of them undeservedly.

Replacing underperforming staff should be rather easy right now.

Tagline:

  • No bonus damage from Skeletal Priest.
  • No bonus damage per minion from Kalan’s Edict.
  • Blood Golem does not get bonus damage for being healthy.
  • Bloodmoon Breeches do not get the proper bonus to Hellbent Commander on a masterwork crit.

Thank you ! Hope Blizzard fix the darn necromancer minions one and for all. Its been 2 years… Blizzard, wake up and fix it!!!

The descriptions require a client patch. We are trying to address them quickly thus we are wanting to do a hotfix and will hit the tooltip inconsistencies on the next scheduled client patch which takes longer to get through due to certification etc.

Just an update for everyone:
We are looking at deploying a hotfix for this possibly later today or tomorrow morning. We will provide thorough notes on the things that were hit or what will come in a resulting fix in the next update. A few stragglers will require a client hotfix.
