Minion and Mendeln Bugs Persisting After Patch

On paper Grasping Vein > Reanimation = Great Feast > Frenzied Dead > Vehement Brawler. Not sure the why Kripp said that, but I think he definitely changed his mind now, coz it’s being used in his mobalytics guide, and it is also being used in maxroll minion necro end game guide. The only caveat of Great Feast is that it drains essence, and might make casting Blight harder, but that can be solved once your Soulrift uptime is high enough

I created a thread on r/D4Necromancer which has my testing video about Titan’s Fall and Mendeln.

Setup: Patch 2.1.2 Eternal realm. Four sets of tests were conducted: zone in & out, change map, log on & off, change point mid combat. Gears modified to minimize noise (curse/proc/rune etc). Tested using 1 skirmisher skeleton

Conclusion: Titan’s Fall is broken, unless this is only a training ground specific behavior. No damage difference for Mendeln between not fortified/fortified/having various points. This passive never works except changing points mid combat, and it snapshots the very first change. For example, decrease it mid combat from rank 4 to rank 1 would snapshot it to rank 3; increase it from rank 1 to rank 4 would snapshot it to rank 2. It is particularly bad for Pit since we cannot change skill points in the Pit.

Why is grasping veins considered so good for minions this season? The grow power makes crit chance irrelevant and the damage is conditional and doesnt exactly have a 100% uptime?

The 50%x (multipler) to Critical Strike Damage, I think.

That 50% multiplier from tendrils (if you get the aspect that high), only applies to enemies damaged by tendrils. And the skill has a substantial cooldown. Not sure if it even works on bosses.

The great feast multiplier only applies to a small portion of dam age, as far as I can tell.

Both reanimation and frenzied can in theory apply to all enemies (but with the rate of bugs, who knows). I’d be surprised if the other two were actually better.

Do keep in mind in previous seasons past the damage bonus from Tendrils DID NOT work when casted by Ring of sacrilegious soul, no idea if this is still the case now but if I was a betting man id assume its still the same.

In the latest hotfix notes they explicitly state that reanimation doesnt work with mendeln so that one is out.

You say that great feast doesnt work for all damage.

Both maxroll and kripparian dont use frenzied dead for some reason even if it is cap 2.

Do Blizz want me to use an unique in every slot like a lightning storm druid?

Seriously!

Yup they employed a quick fix, only now they need another quick fix to fix the fix that did not fix everything as intended. All while it should have just worked as intended from the get go. Love the game but c’mon you cannot defend stuff like this 7 seasons in and expect for people to take you seriously.

Like others mentioned, Grasping Vein is used mainly for the crit damage bonus. This part was broken for Mendeln last season, and the hotfix fixed it. The damage bonus is conditional but late game uptime is 100% with Abhorrent Decrepify and good enough lucky hit chance. It’s not as good as Reanimation/Great Feast early game, but becomes better than those after you get to 100% crit chance (at that point, 50% crit damage multi is just a flat 50% damage multi, which is a higher boost than Reanimation/Great Feast).

The reason maxroll and kripp don’t have frenzied dead is that their builds are in end game state. Even though Frenzied Dead is in the second AS bracket, due to diminishing return and AS breakpoint, it only gives about 30~35% more hits, roughly equivalent to 35% damage multi (+ more lucky hit proc as a 2ndary benefit). So Grasping/Reanimation/Great Feast are all better than frenzied. With grandfather, you just won’t have another offensive slot for frenzied. Before you get your grandfather, frenzied is definitely a good option to put on ring/gloves.

Grasping crit damage boost works on boss. I tested and verified it. See my reply above about the other concerns you mentioned.

One aspect left and 3 glyphs no one realy uses. I’m not defending anything, but I also don’t act like they were unable to fix anything again. I hate this state of the game, where after every patch and update I have to ask “what did they mess up this time?” I think there will never be a period of time, where there never be any game braking bugs.

the 50% dmg modifier is one of the biggest you can have and you pretty much always crit anyway late into the game, so it not much of a condition. also it gives you a lot of blood orbs for your paragon bonus and lucky hits for cdr

oh my bad. I mistaken Great Feast with the aspect where the minions consistently deal shadow damage around them. (Shademist). That was the one, Kripparian couldn’t recommend

One handed and two handed weapons have their own value ranges. Certain two handed weapons may even have their own specific values as well.

My two handed scythe value range is different from the value range I get with the grandfather.

Additionally, your character level (1-60) can also cause the ring to show different values on the aspect.

It’s actually more laughable that you don’t know why the ring shows different values.

you do you bro

The dmg number on the ring is based on, thus shows the base wapon value. And it IS laughable you don’t know this and call out someone who does. GTFO with this dirtbag attitude.
