Minimap off please

Please Blizzard let us just turn the map off. Overlay map with opacity set to zero works kinda, but it’s time to just let us purge the great evil that the minimap from our game.

Minimaps are bad, always, in every game. I will die on this hill.

You can reassign the overlay key to something else and reassign the M key to the main map.

I don’t think that works… i play with controller anyway. Currently all you can do is toggle between overlay and minimap.

That’s the price you pay for being a console peasant.

I too will die on this hill.

And Even with the opacity at 0 on the overlay, the stupid quest and event colored circles are just there… being annoying.

Why?

i think bliz designs stuff like the devil, oh you want a loot filter? oh okay, you wont like it but ill give you one…. oh you want an over lay map? sure coming right up and again you think you do but you dont and we are going to prove it.

oh you want to live forever? wish granted signed here… deal is done and now you get sentence to life in prison with no chance of parole.

I play on PC. Does it even work on KBM though? I only see a toggle overlay binding there as well

I prefer the little map in the corner.. Lol. I didnt even miss the overlay kbe tbh. In d2r I have it small and in the corner too. Its nice to be able to pop it up every so often, but I wish I could move it to the top right qnd make it smaller when j pop it up. I don’t want it over my whole character. Its either too hard to see, or blocks my whole view.

I don’t want the Minimap OR the overlay, the Overlay gave me a way to remove the mini map. It’s almost perfect.

Now I need the colored outlines removed and all will be right with the universe

Screen edge indicators for items and treasure goblins would be nice too

If the game would stop forcing the MAIN quests from being tracked it could be done.

Is there not an option to disable auto pinning of quests ?

Just tape up a square piece of paper over the minimap and ta da!

It’s gone!

Maybe put a note on the paper even!

Yes, but it still shows them anyways, the quest “areas.”

ah those. yep. just in a fainter color if not tracked.

Honestly I think this would a great addition and I would use a feature that allowed me to remove the minimap when I [occasionally] play the campaign. For Season play I wouldn’t ever consider it though. lol

Put a Post-It Note over the minimap on your screen if it offends you so much. I think D4 has the best minimap I’ve used in any game, & I certainly don’t want them to remove it.

*On second thought, it’s probably not the best one but it’s very useful to me.
Sorry LordTovek I just noticed you posted the same thing lol.

Unironically I have done this. It was a piece of paper I could flip up and over the monitor and back. It had F*#@ Minimaps written on it. It’s been useful for a few games. But it shouldn’t be required.

That’s part of the problem, it’s TOO useful, 90% of the game can be played just staring at the square, and not the game, and then all some of us do is stare at it and we don’t like it, we fight it, but we have to do it to see icons and indications of things. The overlay does solve a good amount of this. I just think the big glowing circles can go away.

I like minimap, never used overlay. Prefer clean vision of gameplay.
