Mini-Map Horse Icon

So, not sure how many of you have noticed, but as you dismount from your horse, for a mere second you’ll have a horse icon displayed.

Oftentimes, for that second I keep getting tricked into thinking it is a Gobo (Treasure Goblin).

Nevertheless, I’ve been thinking why even have an icon for your horse, which literally vanishes in a blink of an eye. I mean, it’s got no purpose, it’s not like you have to find your horse, given that you can mount it anytime.

So, could it be that somewhere in development, you were able to walk up to your horse and mount it? That it would stay on the map if you left it there?

Just found it to be a funny idea.

The icon itself is left over from an earlier build of the game. The mount worked differently in the closed endgame beta last year. It kind of ran up to you from offscreen and you had to get on it and the icon let you know which direction it was coming from.

It’s broken is what it is. I can’t tell you how many times my friend and I said to each other : “come quick there’s a goblin that showed up on the map”.
So he stops what he’s doing to tp to me just to find out that there’s no goblin and this was just an artifact on the mini map.
